I keep a plastic one beside my desk at work that people have begun to call "Nick's thinking gun." Some people tap their toes, others chew on a pencil...me? I play with a rifle when I'm in deep thought. :D

Anyone know the handguard length of the 'URX III'? Also how does the midlength gas system on the E3 differ from the 'standard' midlength that other mfgs use?

Awesome rifle.

The KAC midlength gas system/rail is a bit longer than the "standard" system.

It's longer. KAC uses the gas tube from their SR25 carbine.

What trigger guard is that? Did it come from teh factory like that? I was not a fan of their hooked style that they have shown on their website. On that note, what is the premise of the hooked TG?

BTW nice blaster!

Just got mine this past Monday. Plan on breaking it in this weekend, weather permitting. Initial impression, this is a good weapon. Surprising light. Compared it to a LMT MRP and felt not only was it substantially less heavy, but it balances much better. Little bit of slop between the upper and lower receivers, but no big deal, at least they'll come apart easily.

would it be rude to ask what one of those costs?

Reed,

We need you let us know if these will be shipping to any distributors in the near future. There are several people in our department who would love to get one, but all the dealers we have contacted in MD have stated that they are unable to get them......

Probably yes.
After all, he needs some form of payment for all the "hard work" he did "testing" it :p.

Lucky guy!!! :D

What's the goodies you get for $2200? Just curious because you get get Noveske with VIS or LMT MRP for cheaper.

Semi_auto

LMT Standard MRP upper runs $1289
LMT SOPMOD complete lower runs $539
add the enhanced LMT BCG, CH, and F/R Buis and the price seems comparable.

I can empathize with that.

These rifles are just starting to ship and with in a few months dealers should have enough to stock them. We worked very hard to give the customer the most value possible. I can honestly say that there is no better value in the entire market right now. It is a high end gun and commands a high end price. There is no shortcuts on this rifle and it has every option we can put on a rifle. There are also features on this rifle that can not be had at any price. This rifle built to be desirable to not just "KAC coolaid drinkers". We will be building the rifle in quantities that should make it accessible to a broader range of customer than we typically serve.

The purpose of the new "combat" trigger guard is to give the shooter a place to put their finger in the safe position. The extra leverage you get on the rifle with your finger in this position makes a rifle more wieldable (esp. with extra weight on the rifle). Plus it looks cool.

Very impressive, I like it! And that does seem to be a very reasonable price for what you get.

Does the E3 bolt system use a standard or proprietary extension?

Will these be sold with the carbine length URX configuration, as complete uppers, or with 14.5" barrels???

I really like the new E3 and am waiting to buy.

But why didnt they have the upper engraved like the lower? The engraving on the lower looks real sharp but in contrast to the etching on the upper it looks a little odd. It won't stop me from buying one though. :)

Could someone explain this a little? I just don't really see any spot where you would be able to "rest" your trigger finger when the rifle is on the "safe" position???
Is this possible to see in the first pic of this thread?? I CAN see where the trigger guard might be a little wider perhaps??
Thanks for any insight....

I'm curious, will the E3 bolt work with a regular bolt carrier? Could I drop the E3 bolt into a Young national match carrier abd be good to go? Of course, I do mean in an E3 upper.

I'm selling extra stuff off at this point so I can afford one of these. I believe these are an excellent value - even the SR15 match rifles were a great value. As you add up the parts used it would be much more expensive to build one that just buy one. I've got my name on a couple lists out there! Keep cranking them out!
