Dude picked up his P226 LEGION and has posted about it over on SigTalk. (http://sigtalk.com/sig-sauer-pistols/52560-my-p226-legion-experience.html)

Here's his public IMGUR gallery (http://imgur.com/a/SYZD2) which is probably going to drive the anti-gun crowd on IMGUR nuts.

I shot both the 226 and 229 Legion at the Texas Firearms Festival and was very impressed. I've got a couple Enhanced Elites and the Legion is a definite improvement over them. I'm hoping a Legion 227 is in the product pipeline.

whats the difference between the Legion and enhanced? Ive got a 9mm aqnd .45 enhanced. Sigs and HK's are my favorites.

The most obvious things are the trigger, beaver tail, grips, and coating.

The trigger on the Legion is unbelievable in both DA and SA. I've got the normal SRT on my Enhanced and the Legion puts it to shame. Very little take-up, super crisp break, and even shorter reset than the SRT.

The beaver tail is narrower on the Legion. I honestly didn't notice a difference in feel.

The Legion grips are different. Not sure if they're an improvement over the E2 grips on the Enhanced Elite, but there's nothing wrong with them.

And I think the Legion uses a PVD coating. Time will tell if it's more durable or not.

I've shot my Legion 229 several times now and I am shockingly impressed. But the most impressive thing is my ability to make hits with the 11lb first pull. I don't know if it's the grip or the trigger but probably both. I pushed the gun out and drill one inch groups at 7 yards. The gun feels as good as my P30, almost. The P30 is slightly thinner and very slightly lighter which gives it the edge. But I love this gun.

Sounds like if I was in the market to add a Sig to my collection, the Legion would be good to go?

I would say yes. I think current Sig owners that are accustomed to their guns and current SRT Trigger may be less impressed. But after shooting my legion then handling other Sigs, they felt bulky and horrible to me. Then Legion will make non Sig owners , happy Sig owners. They are enough better to convert a guy to give Sig a try. At a price.

Absolutely. If/when a Legion 227 comes out, I'll be trading in my 220 Enhanced Elite.

Here is mine, Finally got to bring it inside without my wife seeing  The trigger feels amazing. I cant seem to drop the slide with an empty magazine in using the slide release. Might just need to be worked in a bit.

I liked my 229 in 357sig, and later got a 229 DAK in 40S&W. They were accurate, and had great triggers. I sold them when I decided to go 9x19 a few years ago. I do remember them being a bit top heavy.

I'm sure that sucks a bit, but they are still a lot more similar than they are different. Are your issued guns going to have the SRT?

Isn't ptmmcain a fellow M4Cr?

He's been banned from this site and HKPRO.

He's the guy who made and posted a video, shooting his MR556 with the rear diopter sight on backwards. I could cut him some slack with most any other AR style sight but the HK diopter is near impossible to use while on backwards.

He'll sell that pistol before the Credit Card bill hits. He buys it, posts about it, makes a cheezy video and then sells.

If your issued 229s have the SRT, they won't be that much different. You'll notice, but it won't be that bad.

Negative on the SRT. We even pay extra to rock the old slide profile, because tradition. Lol.

Oh and the real kicker is the hogue aluminum grips are one of the few available on the approved department list but not the G10 version. We don't police in the cold and winter is my guess. It's screwy

I like the legion grips over the e2 grips. I think they did a good job with the pistol. Its not like everything is perfect but the sum of all the changes makes a huge difference to me. Even the slide release lever being changed helps.

Are sig factory grips on the approved list? If so there may be a loophole for some G10 action:

I went over to the ole LGS last weekend. They had a 226 Legion in .40. I have a 229 Enhanced Elite with SRT in .40, and I dry fired them back to back right there at the counter. I like the 229 I have, it's a great gun, but the Legion was a noticeable improvement in: trigger, grips, and factory sights. I like the enhanced grip, but I can't lie it's pretty abrasive for carrying next to the skin, even with a decent holster. The legion grip is a goldilocks grip, no doubt. The trigger was butter smooth and the sights are step above the old factory Trijicons. When I find a 229 in 9mm, I'm going to snatch it up.

I fondled the P226 Legion at my LGS today. Man I was impressed. I'm heavily invested in Glocks and they're my do everything guns but I'm thinking about adding this gun for pure pleasure. However, I do have a personal rule that I try to stick to: own guns that I will actually carry. So with that said, any P226 owners out there actually AIWB carry this gun? If so, what are your takeaways? Should I consider the P229 Legion instead? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

If this had the short extractor like on my mk-25's, I would jump on this without hesitation.

Wonder if the shorter slide release will be sold separately?

I have the same ideas. Buy only what you can carry Etc. So I went with the smaller gun which is quite big enough. It's slightly more beefy than my P30 , go to gun. And both are very carry able. I honestly am so impressed with the gun.

Mine was supposed to come today but got delayed until Monday due to weather. After owning my P226 combat I've been slowly selling all my M&P's due to my love for the SIG. Not sure how I feel about the exclusive "club" though, as gun owners we're already in one. I get the marketing premise but don't necessarily agree with it. I told some guys at work I was selling two M&P's to purchase the Sig legion, first thing they said was "isn't that the gun that will get you into that exclusive club". Made me sad, these are the kinda guys that bought S&W sporters then went and plastered matching Magpul stickers all over the back windows of their vehicles.

So I went ahead and picked up the P229 back in February. I just crossed the 1,000 round mark so I have a pretty decent feel for the gun now. This is my first Sig purchase and I'm pretty happy so far. Like I said earlier, I try to follow a rule: own guns that I will actually carry. Until now, I've been dedicated to the Glock 19 and have the most shooting and carrying experience with that gun. Anyhow, to make sure I would be properly outfitted to carry an all-steel gun I picked up a good holster from JM Custom Kydex and a purpose-built leather belt from The Belt Man.

The gun is very accurate and I'm a really digging the trigger. The Enhanced Action with SRT gives for a very smooth and consistent DA pull, insanely short and tactile reset, and crisp SA break. It will be interesting to see how the trigger feel evolves over time. Out of the box, it didn't feel like it required any prolonged dry firing to smooth out trigger components. The sights were also a big selling point for me as they are a lot like my preferred G19 sights, the Ameriglo Hack Sights. The Legion setup has a tritium front sight with a high visibility green outline and serrated black rear sights with subdued tritium inserts. They are fairly low profile, provide a clean sight picture and are conducive to shooting at speed and for accuracy (at least for my eyes).

http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h254/dballare/20160429_223116_zpshdj9nypp.jpg (http://s66.photobucket.com/user/dballare/media/20160429_223116_zpshdj9nypp.jpg.html)

The decocker and slide catch are low profile and seem well placed. I have had no issues with them so far. I'm still getting used to having a decocker but it works well when I manipulate it with my support (left) hand thumb. My strong hand thumb is not long enough to manipulate the decocker so I end up having to rotate the gun in my hand in order to hit it. I'm sure somebody with larger hands would have no problem hitting the decocker with the strong hand thumb because it is just barely out of reach for me. At first, I felt like the slide catch was almost a little too low profile and small but it just took some getting used to. The G-10 grips provide a moderately aggressive gripping surface but nothing that feels sharp or irritating over long shooting sessions. I worried about the grips a little bit since I carry AIWB but it hasn't bothered me one bit.

http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h254/dballare/20160429_222950_zpswveoflf1.jpg (http://s66.photobucket.com/user/dballare/media/20160429_222950_zpswveoflf1.jpg.html)

The front strap checkering is nice to have but I wasn't so sure about the checkering under the trigger guard. This doesn't seem to benefit or help me in any way. The frame relief under the trigger guard is a nice touch and has me seriously thinking about making a similar modification to my Glocks.

http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h254/dballare/20160429_223146_zpsguemzeld.jpg (http://s66.photobucket.com/user/dballare/media/20160429_223146_zpsguemzeld.jpg.html)

So far, I really like carrying this gun. I can thumb-check the hammer when holstering and that provides a layer of comfort that I don't have with my Glocks. It conceals very well in the JMCK hoslter and rides firm all-day long on The Belt Man belt. From a reliability stand-point, I've had three failure-to-extract stoppages that occurred somewhere between 600-800 rounds. These all happened on the same day between two different shooters so it did raise an eyebrow. After checking things out, I noticed that my gun was bone dry. I lubed it up and put another 200 rounds through it with no further stoppages. I guess I'll have to keep shooting and see how things shake out. For now, I have no regrets with this purchase and can easily see this gun staying around for a long while.

I bought a legion p226 for IDPA. Can you really justify having both? In other words, do you notice a significant difference in concealability between the 226 and 229? Debating on selling my 226 combat for a 229 legion, but the difference in length from pictures makes me hard to justify it. I should add I've never seen a 229 in person.
