Just thought some might be interested in my little story about this in the latest issue of SWAT Magazine, just out on the stands, Feb. '16 issue. AR on the front on a light blue background.

The idea was, the Swiss GP 11 ammo being inexpensive and reportedly very accurate in Swiss surplus rifles, how good could it get in a Remington that was optimized economically, that is, laying down hundreds but not thousands of dollars?

Don't worry, I don't get a cut if you buy the magazine!

As a non LEO, I don't read SWAT, but I will buy that issue for the article...I like where your going with this rifle...

GP11 shoots as well as or better than the factory Hornady AMAX loading in my surplus K31 (it holds 1.25 MOA out to 400 yards) My money would be that a long action 700 with a heavy barrel, good stock, and good trigger would do quite well with that load.

I'd just like to know where you're still finding GP11 at good prices.

Will it fit in a pmag? Id love to see it in a DPMS 308 pattern rifle.

Definitively maybe. It's halfway between .308 and 30-06 for cartridge OAL.

GP 11 OAL is about 3.050". The longest .308 AR magazines are 2.85 to 2.90. So, no way.

Yeah, pretty much a no-go in anything originally made for .308.

I have not bought any GP11 in a while, I bought 6000 rounds when I started the Remington project. I haven't checked but have caught a few recent comments making me think it is in low supply at the moment....?
