Who went? What as the good stuff you saw? What was the bad? Got cool pics? Lets see em. I know a ton of M4C members are in the "biz" and were a SHOT, so dump your intel here for the rest of us.

I was there, didn't get pictures really and didn't see much because I had to work. Eotech was right by us though and I must say, I really liked their Vudu 1-6 with mil reticle.

ETA: We shared a booth with NextLevel Training, and I got to mess with their SIRT 107 (M&P Version). I'm a Glock guy so I don't really care, but it is a very nice piece of equipment and M&P people should be very happy!

I wasn't there, but I'm going to go out on a limb and guess they aren't releasing a 20" ELW barrel...which is something I'd love to see.

Keep an eye on Battle Arms Dev...ton of cool stuff coming out this year....adj single stage drop in trigger (they dont make it, but will be to their standards), PDW stock that is compatible with standard BCG, and a lot more....

Not impressed with Ruger American pistols, one of the worse striker fired I have seen. And not impressed with the SA SOCOM CQB, the chassis is by Archangel, UTG grip, and the AR style tube is commercial.

DP-12 gonna be a hot item, Walther has a 45 for the first time, very nice trigger, shoots soft for a 45. New Tavor in 300, and a new compact Tavor.

Very nice AK trigger from CMC, will come in flat, curved, or AK-curved.

Geissele charging handle will be out soon, as well as scope mounts and red dot mounts.

I like the grip panels by VZ, I think they are involved with BCM on these. Several different styles and sizes, similar to their pistol grips.

Just a few things I picked up on, off the top of my head.

Not much that I saw interested me. Same as last year.

New Kimber revolver was decent, although the trigger pull was weird. The portion where you advance the cylinder was fairly light then it staged to heavy REAL quick. NOT like any S&W or Colt I have ever shot that has a fairly consistent trigger pull.

Saw some cool stuff downstairs. A lot more than in the big room. 180g 300blk bullets from Rainier will be available in a few months(Alexander Arms has exclusive rights for a period of time).

Overwhelming show as always. Nothing really stood out to me honestly.

I'm usually pretty jacked this week, but I haven't seen anything that's been all that great so far. At least nothing I absolutely have to have, compared to other years

For those that were there did anyone get a chance to play with Aimpoint's new magnifiers?

I know they have a 3x "commercial model", a 3x, and a 6x that are all compatible with the T-1, are they compatible with the H-1? I ass-u-me so but would like to hear from those who have had their hands on them and have spoken with their reps.

I'm still here....tired but still having a great time. The show was great, got to see some new things and even picked up a few new things.

That CMC AK trigger was nice but I also liked the Geiselle AK trigger.

I did, not sure about compatibility, but I believe the answer is yes. Shot the 3X, very nice, it has flip over or QD capability. Saw the 6x, was a little hard to find the eye relief for me, probably a much more specialized use item.

I agree. I think the mounts from Geissele will be the shit...Bill was really talking them up, and made some serious claims about the lock up and return to zero.

I got some RUMINT about a vaporizer/stun gun combo. I tried to track it down. No dice.

I was damn sure I found it when I came across all manner of stun guns shaped like other stuff. Like, flashlight stun gun. Nokia brick phone stun gun. Far-too-large-iPhone stun gun. Stun gun that looked like pepperspray.

"Can I help you?"
"Yes, I'm looking for a stun gun that's also a vaporizer. Or maybe just looks like a vaporizer."
"What? That would just be a gimmick"
(that last line said completely unironically, while standing in front of aforementioned nokia stun gun display)

Iv8888 and tactical shit have about the best video coverage of the show that I've found so far. That's up and running. Nssf and arfcom have some videos up as well.

Seen last night that lwrc has a 45 acp sub gun out now.

Sweet Korth 1911 style pistol which uses the HK MP5 roller cam locking system. This thing had to be the smoothest action I've ever felt! The fixed barrel should also play a vital role in achieving great accuracy

They've signed with the Sands convention center until 2018.

While Orlando was close and much cheaper for me, it was pretty much boring. Vegas offer more hotels, dining and entertainment for over 60,000 attendees. I think SHOT has outgrown Orlando.

When the whole western world standardizes on a single rifle platform, trade shows get pretty dull.

Here's what I saw a lot of:

coloured ARs
ARs held by somebody famous
ARs that had been somewhere cool
ARs with proprietary mounting of something
ARs with slightly lighter weight something
ARs with proprietary something that did something unnecessary

BUT: lot of cool stuff in the Colt booth. Really like the Hackathorn model and the Colt Canada MMRs shoot like a hot damn.

What else...I brought my wife this year and told her to go get stickers and patches until she got bored. That generated some spectacular piles of swag.

Elcan whistled while looking elsewhere and smiling when asked if they might be dumping the ARMS mount now that the majority of their sales are outside of the CF. Also the 1/3/9 is no longer backordered severely...this is more likely to indicate that they fixed the problems than that their manufacturing has caught up. Classic elcan move is to have products "backordered" while they fix them. Great glass, though.

Industry Armament has a nice CF precision barrel they think will compete with PR for a lot less money.

FN's belt-fed is cool.

The Schmeisser ARs are slick as f**k. Pistol's interesting, but I doubt it'll take off.

Everyone and his malinois, which are now apparently mandatory, have now done a knock-off of the NEA mini stock.

The .510 Beck wasn't as pointless as I figured it would be.

I did not find Pat Quinn at the Velocity Systems booth which disappointed me greatly as I really wanted to know if he realized how great it was to be named Pat Quinn, at least as far as any Canadian worth his maple syrup would be concerned.

On thursday I left and went to the Las Vegas Neon Graveyard which is a museum of old signage from defunct casinos. That was probably the highlight, since I ran out of time to get to the Spearmint Rhino, which is usually a priority for me.

Traded magazines with Dave M as promised, after recognizing his "bulldog" tattoo at the pastry table from a photo I saw maybe ten years ago.

Talked to the Shield optic guys a bit...they're working on incorporating my favourite reticle into the gen 2 micro-sight. Not sure if anyone here would have seen that but it's the thing that made me care about MRDSs on pistols.

FN turns out to be about ten times more responsive and helpful than I would have guessed.

Reg Wales has a book coming out on long range precision shooting that I'm really looking forward to.

Glock introduced a carbine, that was sort of cool I guess

Everybody is building 9mm 1911s, because that's the gun-hipster trend at the moment.

MDT's LSS chassis is taking off, which is awesome for them, but god damn it's ugly.

I think that about covers it.

. . . lot of cool stuff in the Colt booth. Colt Canada MMRs shoot like a hot damn.

It's a sad day when a guy in America wants a rifle that was invented in America that is manufactured in Canada and it's banned from importation even though we're allies and all that . . .

I've always been fond of the Maple Leaf rollmark and the outstanding reputation that Colt Canada has earned. Lot of the world's teir 1 SOF units sport them.

...and a Canadian had to go to the US for the public release. The world's pretty topsy-turvy, all right.

I guess it's a matter of them being built outside the US - I don't follow your laws very closely but it's bizarre and unfortunate that they can't be imported; we were really impressed with them during testing. Thousands and thousands of full-auto suppressed rounds with no failures, and really impressive accuracy for a rack-grade gun.

I have one of the Danish contract IUR monolithic guns here and it's a typical rack-grade CC machine, selected at random from however many the Danes didn't need...it shoots to about 0.7 MOA, on average, with Mk262. They really do a good job on their barrels.

That was teased at last years show. I'll have to find that video.

Any luck on finding the video? I assume you're talking about the LWRC SMG45? Any word on that at all?

There arent too many guns I'd immediately pull money out of my savings account for, but that is one of them...if they were available I'd buy and SBR one immediately.
