A small community in northern Saskatchewan is reeling after shootings at two locations left four people dead.

Several others were wounded in the violence in La Loche, which has a population of about 3,000 people.

RCMP confirmed the deaths during a news conference Friday night in Regina, and added that a male suspect was in custody and the immediate threat was over.

"There's no risk to public safety at this time," Chief Supt. Maureen Levy, a senior officer for the Saskatchewan RCMP, said, adding she could not provide details on the number of people wounded or the nature of their injuries.

"This is truly a tragedy."

Yes, very sad.

They have very strong gun laws & socialist government, how is that working out. Wonder if terrorist related, for sure they are having issues with ragheads.

I just noticed something odd... This mass shooting isn't on the "main stories" section of CNN, it's on there secondary stories. I also just read through their article and there was no mention of the "gun used" or any of the typical media hype that surrounds these attacks in the U.S. If you read it, it becomes glaringly clear the different reporting styles.

I guess a mass shooting in a nation with stricter gun controller then the U.S. doesn't play into their narrative very well.

They'll somehow try and link the gun he got to a supposed legal purchase made here in the U.S. Even if all the shooter used was a double barrel shotgun or a .22 target pistol, Obama will still declare that a ban on AR-15s would have prevented this.
