View Full Version : Glock 22 Gen 4 Trouble Shooting (Pin Issue)

If you have a Glock 22 Gen 4 would you mind posting a picture or two of the ejector housing pin, installed, from the outside rear?

My pin seems oversized for the Gen 4. I do not remember ever having a pin protrude from the frame like mine does.

For what it's worth, this is the replacement pin sent to me by Glock Inc. The original pin was the same installed in the gun. This is not the pin that gets installed with the replaceable back straps.

If it helps or even matters, my SN prefix is UCK***.

TIA

Its probably longer to accommodate the beaver tail back straps.

I'm okay with that.

This is not the pin that comes with the replaceable back straps. This is the factory installed pin with no back straps installed.

David, I can't post a picture. My model 22 came with regular back straps rather than the whale tails but my pin is flush on one side and 1/16" on the other side. That side protrudes less than yours does. It is a blue label gen 4 by the way.

Thank you sir! If you have a chance would you be able to get a measurement of your pin? If not, it's no worries I appreciate your response.

My pins are coming in at 22.77 - 22.78MM.

Post beavertail pin,

My early G23 came with two pins.
My later G22 and G27 came with just one longer pin.

No need for the hysterics, if you don't like it Dremel it.

My long trigger housing pin is 1.013"; (#SP07416)
the short pin is .825" (#SP01774)
37435

What you have is a G22 gen3 pin which is .900". (#427)

Edited to add:
I see the original question has since been deleted. Apparently the OP needed p/n SP01774, but was given/sent p/n 427. In this case, better longer than shorter as the longer one can be trimmed down, at least until the correct part is obtained if desired.

As an FYI - I spoke with a fed who stated his Gen 4 G22 had that pin walk on him at the academy. Leads me to believe that was a major factor in their RFP for a new pistol not use grip panels held in place by a pin.

L-2,

Thank you very much for your post. Greatly appreciated.

I will be sourcing the correct pin, SP01774.

Not sure about the double tap on this one.

Thanks for the additional information.

I've never encountered this before with any other Gen 4.

Thanks for your advice.

There were no hysterics. I asked a specific question that has been answered.

FWIW, I measured the short polymer trigger housing mechanism pin without adding grips and found it to be .813". The longer polymer pin for med. and large grip is 1.012". Again, this is for a blue label gen 4 mod. 22. I guess I should have taken the time to measure them rather than eyeballing it.

It is much appreciated! I was tracking with what you had originally posted.

Many thanks to you!

This is the first non-blue label Glock I have bought in a long time. I'm thinking maybe it was a mix up at the factory (Improper pin) and it was made worse because of my lack of description to the Glock rep.

Thanks again!

Have you actually read the RFP?

I have. Just re-read it and now I don't see that requirement. My mind must be playing tricks on me.

No worries. The pin isn't a problem. Never has been.

I haven't had any issues with mine. My only 40 is a Gen 3 G22. All my Gen 4 Glocks are 9 or 45.

It is bugging me though because I know I read that somewhere. Oh well - getting old sucks. Lol!
