I'm looking at maybe buying a 14.5" barreled rifle off of a range buddy for a good price. The upper has a 14.5" SOCOM Colt barrel with a BCM a2x supposedly pinned on. On any other pinned upper I've seen the weld job has been very obvious, but with this one it's certainly not what I'm used to seeing. My range buddy states he had a local gunsmith install the barrel on his upper and then had the a2x pinned. The gunsmith then (I guess) ground down the normal solder bubble I'm used to seeing and cerakoted the a2x and crush washer, etc.
My question to you guys being-does it appear obviously pinned to your eyes, based on the attached pics? It looks like there had been some welding there to me, but I'm guessing I just want some 2nd opinions before buying it:
