I just read an article about the Franklin Armory Binary trigger pack. "NFA approved" , 2 shots with one pull of the trigger, One shot with the pull, and one shot upon release. Cost is $400. It kinda sounds like a novelty and I'm curious. But not enough to drop 400. But like the bumpfire stocks, which I didn't fall for, initially it sounds interesting in that companies are attempting to create a pseudo-conversion kit for the AR15. Anyone have the chance to play with this ?

There are multiple threads on this topic. The search box at the top right will provide links to all of these if you search "Binary Trigger".

From reviewing several of these threads, the consensus is that this product is a very bad idea. I fail to see any practical application. Read the established threads and make an informed decision based on your own needs and wants.

From what MAC said in his video, it's very easy for a good shooter to outrun the cyclic rate of your AR15 with the binary trigger, which can cause a malfunction.

And that makes sense. A decent AR shooter can get 0.15 second splits with a good trigger. If you half that with the binary trigger, you're doing 0.075 second splits. That's 800 rpm. Cyclic for an M4 is 700-950 rpm... with an A5 and heavy spring slowing down your cyclic rate, the math works out.

I have wondered how that, a belt fed upper and a slidefire would work. Poor mans SAW? :meeting:

my favorite "trigger idea" was the TAC CON 3MR.

EDIT: I want to enunciate the phrase "TRIGGER IDEA"
