It was hard for me to hear over the applause, but I think I heard Cruz say in Spanish, "Let's settle this now, In Spanish if you like."

I'm laughing, but not for the same reason you are I don't think.
Rubio baited him and he took it. A true pro would have waited until it was his turn to speak, and busted out some true hilarity.
But Cruz doesn't know that much Spanish which is why he went with the "We can do this in Spanish if you want" line.

That's how I see it. Most of them don't have a clue. Kasich rails against getting into a civil war in Iraq then proposes we fight every side in Syria, another obvious civil war. Russian involvement doesn't mandate clueless, counterproductive and expensive U.S. meddling.
I don't give a s*** about the GWB legacy.

Cruz has only learned to speak Spanish in last 2 years. All his Spanish TV ads, that is not him speaking. He misspoke, but did try to fix it. Accent is solidly American.
Why did Trump not say "hey speak English".
Obviously he's a bit off his game. That would have been classic.

If you're not going to fight in the debate, then please don't even run because if the cause of Conservatism isn't worth you raising your voice; you're in the wrong F'ing line of business.
If just a few of these Mopes we call RINO's would grow some testicles and be as loud as Trump, but with a plan and a factual point, they could take Democratic Socialist Progressives to task for the crap they are getting away with and at that point we would be so far ahead that Hillary would be in prison or on the way.
As it is, it is far too easy to play the game and then go home at night and count your money at the end of the day. They save all of that false ire and indignation for your reelection speech, get back to Washington and sit on their fat laurels.
These guys are the lazy, fat, stupid and happy. They act as though they are thoroughly enjoying their deck chair, cool drink and sun shade just before the Titanic goes under, but what the "F", they have a place in the life boat reserved.

Timing is everything when you see an opportunity to bluff. For someone that is actually not fluent in Spanish he looked like he did pretty well to me. I'll bet the search engines spiked "Cruz Spanish" after that and not "Rubio"
Not only that he gains favor as being American as in POTUS, and showed that he did indeed hear Rubio saying one thing to the Spanish(Non-American community) and another to Americans he wants vote to for him.
Rubio came off sort of like Ahmadinejad saying he didn't have homosexuals where he lived and being laughed at. Both can deny it all night long... Rubio made the fatal "lawyer mistake"... don't ask a question you don't know what the answer will be.

Kasich proved he is just another clueless career politician saying anything to get elected. Cruz and rubio's spanish exchange provides a valid point as to why congress needs to pass a law setting English as the national language of the U.S. If one wishes to come to the U.S. and go thru the legal process of becoming a U.S. citizen, then they need to be able to communicate in English.

It's unconstitutional to discriminate against those that do not speak English .
