I am in the middle of helping my brother out with an AR-15 build and he is trying not to break the bank. We are looking at [URL="https://jtdistributing.com/store/dbh1689.html#6403"] a Double Star barrel does anybody know if this is dimpled for the gas block?
Ive done the dimpling before i would just rather not have to do it again something about drilling a barrel just doesn't sit well with me especially when its not my money. Also if anybody has any reviews or feedback on this barrel that would be great, Thanks!

For pennies more you can get an AR15 Performance barrel that is extremely well made and already dimpled:

No personal experience with the DoubleStar barrel, but I would be astonished if it was anywhere close to being the same quality as the ARP barrel above.

I have no affiliation with AR15 Performance other than being a satisfied customer.

Wow, Thank you! I had no idea they existed this is a far better solution from what i can tell. Stainless instead of 4140 and it has 5r rifling. Its hard to be cheap i know what $350 to $400 gets me out of a barrel but i was trying to be on a budget with his stuff.

I would stay far far away from anything double star.

For a few more bucks you can get a BCM, which is a fantastic quality barrel - http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-16-M4-Barrel-Stripped-p/bcm-brl-s-m4%2016%20std.htm

Cheap barrels usually end up being more expensive. Buy once, cry once.
