Am I the only one that immediately skips over an EE post if there are no pics added, even if it's something I want? Why do these people not bother to add pics?! I don't get it.

I'm sorta guilty. I don't know how to photobucket.
One day I'll take personal initiative to figure out how.

I don't automatically pass over it but it sure helps reel me in quicker if the pictures are there since those pictures can answer a lot of questions right off the bat. When I create a listing for higher dollar items I make damn sure to put pics up because I believe it increases my chances of closing a deal in a shorter amount of time. I get the hassle of posting to photobucket then posting the links, making sure the pics are the right size, etc. At the end of the day though, as long as the seller has 100% rating and can send pictures later I am still comfortable negotiating and transacting.

Drives me crazy when i see something I think I'm interested in. I sit there trying to will a photo into the post.... it doesn't work. I move on. Could be my loss, such is life. It's frustrating but it's the seller's deal. If they can live with it then I must as well.

Eh, I mean I don't need to see a picture if it's for a like new X300 or something. You see one you've seen them all.

What I can't stand is when someone does the "PM me for details" or don't add the price.

officerX
02-27-16, 21:44
For me, the pictures sell the item. I can tell you it's "like new" but you're definition of like new and mine could differ. Pics leave little to the imagination.

Please use the report-post function when you see those, as they are a violation of EE rules clearly outlined here: https://www.m4carbine.net/announcement.php?f=108

Include "WTB" "WTS" and/or "WTT" in your thread title. All WTS ads *must* have a price in the ad, or in the header description. You should also indicate where you are located and what methods of payment you will accept.

A simple picture can save everyone a LOT of time.

I don't need 24 hi res photos unless I'm actually considering the purchase. But one photo can save me asking dozens of questions.

Some of us over 45 aren't into the computer stuff, I send pics through email, no big deal.

A free photobucket account, upload the pics, post them.

Yes, I skip ads with no pictures.

Sometimes, when somebody posts an item for sale that I've never heard of, yet provides no picture, I'm forced to "Google" it. On a few occasions, the search lands me on the same item at a better price...

Never knew that and it makes perfect sense. Just this am went to optics and the very first post no pics, so as others I skipped over it.

thanks for the info

I think it depends on the seller.

Vetted M4C member, and you say the condition is good? I'll email you for pics. (I won't buy anything without a pic)

New member or someone who has 40 posts and only lists in the EE? I'll pass. You probably won't respond to my PM and the risk is higher than I want to accept.

I have no hard and fast EE rules. It all depends on the seller.

If Steyr was selling something, I'd want a classic '80s porno to go with it. If 7.62NATO was selling, I'd want a KKK hood. If Firefly was selling, I'd want some dope logic written on the napkin of a gyros joint from the hood.

I typically post pictures within 24hr of posting an item if I don't have the photos on my computer. Other wise, yea, I tend to skip ads that don't have photos.

Picture are a plus but for me it depends on the size of purchase, who is doing the selling and their feedback score. If a long time member says something is LNIB I'll take him/her at their word.

LowSpeed_HighDrag
02-28-16, 12:32
I'm the same way. I'm not emailing you for pictures. If you can't figure out how to post them, how could I trust you can figure out how to do an online transaction? If you're gonna make it difficult for me to even see the damn item, you're probably gonna make the rest of this game very hard.

POST PICS!

I'm in the "Want pics in ad" boat. I absolutely hate the "I'm on my phone" excuse for no pictures.

Guess what, I'm on my phone.

Here, watch Dora the f'in Explorer that I embedded with my phone.

Check out this bullet pic (http://m.cookingchanneltv.com/recipes/pork-rinds-chicharron.html).

Or wait, did I just show you how to make pork rinds under the pretense of you seeing a bullet from my freaking phone?

Here's a stupid picture from stupid photobucket,

You have skills dude!

I've posted photos from my iPhone. It sucks. The links don't copy like they should. I don't think I can upload multiple photos at once by phone either. I take most of my photos with the phone. I crop them. Taking out stocking feet and nasty big toes! I Email them to myself and upload them to photobucket. It works much smoother.

I agree no photos sucks. Photo bucket is very easy to use. Especially from a computer or tablet.

I just downloaded the photobucket app and I can upload multiple photos at once this way.

I would never post a WTS with out a good picture. I would think it would hugely diminish my chances of a good sale.

I probably feel this way because I skip adds without pictures.

I also don't post much for sale because I feel like I take terrible pictures.

That's cool. The site opens in taptalk every once in a while. I don't care for it. But that's a cool option.

Making the buyer work to find out he is not interested is nuts. So is not listing your location on items with heavy shipping cost. I might buy that 1000 rounds if you are local, but I'm not going to PM on a 1/50 chance.

I use it almost exclusively for surfing the forums. All of them are accessed from a single app and it's more phone friendly. You don't see the links and ads at the top of the page though and certain functions like feedback still require use of the website. But for general surfing, reading and posting, it's very streamlined. I post almost all of my content, including ads with pictures, directly from TT.

I use tapatalk but not their pic upload feature once I learned you couldn't delete from their server. Now it's all photobucket. In fact, it's faster to post a listing on my phone with photobucket pics than signing into a computer.

For Euro and others, I sell almost exclusively on M4C even though I don't post much. I read and learn and have little to add the knowledge base most of the time. So I sell gear here I don't need to help others out with a discount. My way of giving back. But always with pics!

That's the way I'd do it as well. I take the pics with my iPhone, upload with the Photobucket app, copy the IMG code, come to M4C create the listing and paste my IMG code into the text.

Posting photos with tapatalk from your phone is way easier than photobucket but I do both. Most times though I make it a point to post from tapatalk b/c it's so much easier.

Posting photos from photobucket from your phone does suck though.

That said, I don't post pics a lot of times because if someone wants what I'm selling, they know what it looks like.

I've bought and sold many things in here without pics.

I don't buy something if there aren't pics. It takes like two minutes to add pictures to your ad. If you're computer savvy enough that you can sign up for an account here, then you're computer savvy enough to make a photobucket account.

I don't want there to be any surprises, whether I am buying or selling. I want a buyer of what I am selling to know exactly what to expect so he/she is happy with the transaction.

You don't want to add pics? That's fine. Just understand you're limiting your buying audience.
