View Full Version : Price of cans going down, it's a good thing!

It really seems the prices of Suppressors are very competitive these days. Manufactures know the market is hot and they want to be in the game. And a free market economy is working properly where new competition keeps things hot.

I saw an online store selling 30 cal cans for $400. And I went into my LGS, and they guy offered me my beloved AAC m4-2000 for $600. That is just a wonderful thing. Anybody else seeing prices very competitive in ther area?

Be quiet !

I've seen the same. Many local stores are now much closer to Silencer Shop's/Tar Heel/CA prices.

I've seen more of things not being in stock. Once 41F goes into effect I'll be interested in seeing if the prices go back up (due to people not buying as much) or if prices will continue to go down.

I would love to see suppressors removed as a class III item. At that point I see prices really becoming affordable to the masses (much like the Euro market).

I'm not. Local store wants $1400 for a surefire 212.

They also refuse to get prices for me on not-in-stock cans.

Overall, yes. It's great, just not seeing it locally.

Unm, price of new Surefire SOCOM RC2 is much much cheaper than that, go to Silencershop & find a powered by dealer close to you.

I've seen a few LGS's do the "we sell at MSRP +$100 stocking fee". I usually laugh out loud and walk out.

Others are being more competitive. Not quite online pricing but local, in stock and easy to arrange a conjugal visit has it's advantages.

Hansohnbrothers.com

This guy is local to me and beats SS and Capitol Armory.

SPEQ and offers a mil/LEO/FD discount as well.

Might be worth a look...even with your local transfer fee.

Additional competition in the market probably helps us consumers. I got a Sig SRD762TI for $650 home and another Sig SRD45 for $499 in NFA jail. Maybe not everyone's choice, but these will cover most every gun I own (.223, 7.62X39, 300BLK, 9mm, .380, 32acp) and I never thought that would happen at this price.

The new Sig offerings are definitely scaring some folks. QD, TI with mounts for $725 in my area. And $950 for 338 cans is crazy

Once the Form 3 is cleared and your can arrives at your local you're more than welcome to come see it in "jail."

I really think that we would see prices increase at shops if suppressors were no longer a class three item. The rush of people buying once they no longer had to spend $200 and wait would surely cause a bump in demand. That said, production would eventually increase to fill the void.

The Sig SRD45 @ $499 came with standard and metric (forgot the threading) pistons in the box as well..a steal BUT, I had to buy the 9mm threading from sig (1/2X28 & 13.5X1 LH) and they were $69 each.

LGS lets me shoot my jailed cans, just not leave with them, making the form 4 wait pretty darn easy. Hardest part is waiting for them to cool before I leave the range.

I know, it's crazy. They've had the same cans in stock for years. Literally years.

I bought mine from Capital armory.

I was actually able to score an M4-2000 for $600 and a 762 SDN-6 for $650.00. Too good to pass up IMHO. I may go back and get another of each! I believe that I did pay full retail on a SF SOCOM 300SPS though. Really all about demand I think.

With the price of can's I am seriously looking at a dedicated can for my AK's. Now to just research which one.
