Hey guys, quick question for everyone.
I purchased an M&P9C a week and a half ago at a gun show.
I went to pick it up today from the pawn shop where it was transfered.
I took it home, stripped it and noticed some wear in spots that shouldnt be worn on a new pistol, or at least i dont THINK they should be worn.
The slide has some wear on it where the slide stop contacts the slide and on the breech there apears to be a scratch or at least an area where there appears to be a small "dimple" in the metal and then next to it a bare silver spot.
Now, im really not the kind of guy that cares all that much about how his pistols or equipment looks, i know this stuff is going to be battered during use but at the same time, im a little worried about the slide marks since that area actually could affect the function of the gun.
I have enclosed some pictures for everyone to look at.
Any advice anyone can offer me in regards to how i should handle this would be greatly appreciated.
PS, i have not fired the gun yet.
PPS, the first picture i have posted is a picture of of my four month old M&P9 with almost 4k rounds through it plus heavy and i mean HEAVY handling. I wrack the slide constantly with snap caps and lock it open yet there appears to be almost no wear on the slide. The middle picture and the bottom picture are of my brand "new" never fired M&P compact.
