If you purchase the vector v-53 pistol version and then put a collapsible stock on it, does it then become a SBR? The reciever is classified as a pistol, and you can put stocks on pistols.

That is correct.

Which is correct? That it becomes an SBR or that it's legal to put the collapsible stock on it?

That it becomes an SBR if you add a stock to a pistol.

You can NOT put a stock on a pistol. It then becomes an SBR, and is subject to the same limitations and requirements for ownership. As a result putting a stock on the V-53 would make it an SBR. Depending on how much of a stickler an ATF agent wanted to be just having in your possession a stock that would fit on the V-53 would be illegal.

Edited for spelling.
