Snake Eater Tactical

I’ve been carrying firearms on my person for nearly 20 years and in that time I’ve learned a few important lessons. The most important of which is; it doesn’t matter how high speed you are or how top end your gear is if you don’t have a solid foundation for it to ride on you’re going to have issues. The belt you choose is the most important decision you’ll make when attaching a firearm to yourself.

For the last few years rigger’s belts have been the go to for many who strap a weapon to themselves on a daily basis. Within that arena the amount of choices is almost daunting. They range from uber expensive Gucci like belts to “unexpensive”, aka cheap offerings. I have and always will subscribe to the belief “buy once, cry once”. Occasionally all the stars come into the correct alignment and you can have top of the line quality coupled with an affordable price.

Enter Snake Eater Tactical (SET). SET makes the finest riggers belts I have ever had the pleasure to wear. I’ve trialed many different brands of belts over the years and SET is the only belt maker in which I’ve owned more than one. They’re just that good. Made in the USA and designed to outlast the rest of your gear, they’re probably the single best investment I’ve made for EDC gear.
My love for them doesn’t stop there either. They’ve shown themselves to be so well made I use them in conjunction with my HSGI and TYR Tactical war belts. In my EDC rotations they typically carry a full size pistol and weaponlight, extra mags, and depending on the situation an edged weapon of varying flavor. When riding inside a warbelt the weight can go up exponentially. They support a mid-ride Safariland holster, extra rifle and pistol mags, IFAK, dump pouch and anything else I may need. The belt never loosens or sags. The buckle has never unintentionally released, even under stress, as SET uses only Austriaplin Cobra Buckle’s. My belts have never had ANY fraying of any kind and after considerable abuse look as good today as the day I received them. It’s obvious they build their belts with only the best materials available.

The following are the specs in which the belts are made:

•Two layers of Type 13 Resin Treated parachute webbing. Width is 1.75".
•Austriaplin Cobra Buckle
•5" adjustment range. 2" down and 3" up from the size ordered. If you carry IWB, add 1? to the measurement.
•Short tail doesn’t interfere with pistol holsters. A removable 1.5" elastic keeper keeps the tail down. No velcro to wear out or hang up on the Cobra buckle.
•1.75" webbing colors are, Black web with Black buckle, Coyote Brown, Ranger Green and Multicam belts have Elephant Grey buckles.
•1.5" webbing colors are Black with Black buckle, Coyote Brown with Elephant Grey Buckle, and Wolf Grey with Wolf Grey buckle.
•Five rows of stitching down the length of the belt, sewn in the same color as the webbing.
•Lifetime warranty.

From SET’s website:
“Our Cobra Riggers belt follows in the tradition of the original riggers belts, but with updates in hardware and refinements in style. First, we use the Austrialpin Cobra buckle exclusively. This is simply the best buckle money can buy. It is extremely strong with a 4000 lb breaking strength, and it will not open when under load, making it very safe. It is made from Aluminum so it is light weight and will not rust. Second, we have eliminated all unnecessary hardware, such as the steel V-Ring that early riggers belts featured. This eliminates weight and clutter from the belt. Instead, our belts feature a 2? opening next to the buckle in the event the user needs to clip into an anchor. Third, we add style. There is nothing wrong with looking good. We add a touch of style to this belt with a contrasting diamond stitch pattern creating our trademark Diamondback belt. This pattern not only set our belts apart from all of the mass produced riggers belts on the market, but add rigidity to the belt without affecting flexibility or comfort.”

As I stated earlier this is the only manufacturer that produces belts so well made I’ve gone back for seconds. Unparralled quality and prices starting at $77.00 for the diamondback stitched riggers belt. To sum thigs up if you’re in need of the best belt money can buy at a price that can’t be beat you need to do yourself a favor and check out Snake Eater Tactical!

Have you tried any of the mag pouches? I'm curious as to how they compare to HSGI tacos.
