View Full Version : What Sling is This?

This looks like a Vickers Blue Force Sling but I do not see the standard slide. There is a D ring looking piece of webbing on the sling. I have a call into Uncle Sams Surplus but thought I'd get a faster response here. Don't buy them all up on me. I want two of them :).

NSN 1005-01-604-0627:
Sling, Small-Arms, 2-Point, Combat Applications (VCAS), Coyote Brown
(NSN 1005016040627 / NIIN 016040627)
Doesn't look like and BFG Vickers sling I've ever seen

It looks a little like one. The buckle does and the width. They may leave the BFG labor off the military slings. Imthe big labor isn't necessary and ckukd have been left off. That D shape is what is throwing me.
It resembles the VCS sling somewhat based on the ends. The heart and soul of that sling is BFG's "slider" and the tab to use it- which is clearly missing from this sling

I've seen those somewhere before, they are a knock-off of the VCAS. 1005-01-604-0627 is the NSN # for Coyote Brown VCAS (1005-01-625-4470 is the Black VCAS) and should not be used in that ad.
Googled imaged the NSN. Came up with an eBay item describing this as a sling manufactured by Raine Inc. Looks very similar to your photo usmcvet. Top row middle photo.

Here it is: http://raineinc.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=72&products_id=2195
Note: Part # 022QAGENT in the ad you link from Uncle Sams Surplus is the same used by Raine.
Looks like 3 AE beat me to it
But you nailed it right on the button with the website link, titsonritz. Boy, it sure looks very similar to a VCAS with the exception being the web loop for the slider. Check out their daypack. Does it look like Tactical Tailor's Removable Operator Pack minus the PALS webbing on the front pocket,or what? Hmmmmm.....

Tactical Tailor Removable Operator Pack (http://www.tacticaltailor.com/removableoperatorpack.aspx)
Man it sure does. They should change their name to Raining Knock-offs
Thanks guys. I appreciate it. It might still be worth a try for under twenty bucks. Depending on shipping. I looked a BFG's site and they have more slings than I was aware if but nothing with those looks. The loop probably gets them past the copyright issues.
