Witnesses told officers that 55-year-old Kevin Jordan was carelessly walking down the sidewalk on Park Avenue in Memphis with his attention fixed on pornography playing on his cell phone. Apparently Jordan didn’t look up in time to see that a 15-foot trailer had come unhitched from a passing pickup truck and was racing toward him.

Jordan was struck and killed by the runaway trailer.

And of course this is obligatory here:

Fiancé Connie Harris said Jordan “had his life in order” and insisted that she still loved him even in death. She also claimed that his recent citation of indecent exposure was not a sexual crime. She said he was urinating in an alley when a woman walked by and saw him.

So a 55 year old guy looking at titties deserves death?

And aren't we usually complaining about the guys who get caught taking a piss outside being labeled sex offenders?

The fact that his wife loves him and attempted to set the record straight tells me he was probably a decent guy.

Now if he truly WAS a sex offender and was looking at some kind of illegal porn, that would be different. But I'm not sure celebrating the death of this guy is in very good taste.

I'm sure it's the standard "go to" in most situations. But at the same time I personally know a couple guys.

Granted they were in a parking lot pissing on a tree late at night and somewhat in view, but you'd need a flashlight to see anything but shadows. Not the brightest thing in the world and not something I personally would want to see just in terms of social courtesy issues, but still a long way from being an actual sex offender.

Just seems excessive for returning your pitcher of beer. Both guys lost their jobs, both are on the offender registry and their lives have taken a serious downturn as a result. They should have been smarter, but stupid drunk people sometimes do stupid drunk shit. If they did something like DUI or hurt somebody I'd have nothing to do with them. But pissing on a tree in a parking lot?

Funny Story;
I had a great Soldier that came home from the ME with a raging case of IBS. Eat something funny, get a little stress, it is game on.
I get a call from the MP desk Sergeant in San Antonio that I have a Soldier in the lock-up who was caught taking a crap in an alley between two dumpsters.
I told him, "Say no more it is Sgt X, he has an issue with his stomach and he just kind of has to go when he has to go wherever he is at." Yadda, yadda and I've talked him out of the lock up and released. Come to find out the Desk Sergeant knew of Soldiers with the same issue.
No muss, no fuss, nothing hit the blotter back at home station.
My Man made a great career out of the Army and recently retired.
Sometimes you just gotta go.
