Been browsing for a while now another ar after selling my dd year ago to go through acdemy. I saw new, arrival of cokt 6920 magpul edition with all the new magpul sl line of furniture. Its a nice feeling light rifle the new handguard puts it just long enough to be a good feel along with the new stock. Is colt still good quality and demand like they were? I see on gr tactical says all cokts sold out. My lgs has this one for $900 thinking of grabbing it

Good rifle if you like the furniture.

If my LGS had 6920s with the MagPul Slimline furniture for $900, my first post in this thread would be "Look what I bought!"

I would recommend a Colt w/ an aimpoint over an irons-only BCM/DD any day.

I'd probably recommend the Colt over those two brands anyway. I don't really see any advantage DD has over Colt. With BCM, you could get a lightweight FF rail and mid-length gas system, but I'd consider those small upgrades compared to having an Aimpoint.

I'd probably also recommend buying a used Aimpoint H1 instead of a Pro.

Definitely a great price for a great AR.

Gunwatcher presently shows as the lowest price for one of these as $975.

BCM/DD offer superior fit, finish, quality control and mid length. The only thing Colt has going for in this case is price.

I think the OP is getting a fine AR at a great price. I'm happy for him. Other AR options are certainly available, but I think we can just congrat the OP and let it go at that. Just my .02.

Thanks guys. Just got her. Sweet rifle. Came with 2 pmags to. 950 out the door. I can always get a dd or bcm upper down the road. Now aimpoint pro or micro...

Congrats!! Happy for you, brother.

Re. optic.

The micro is awesome for all the right reasons, but also comes with a fairly hefty price tag. I see one for sale here for $550 (T1).

The Aimpoint PRO is the best value in Aimpoints, hands down, but it is heavier, etc.

But if you have a limited budget, the PRO is the way to go.

I have three of the colts le6920, one of which has the aimpoint pro. I have zero problems, and when I'm ready, so is my colt. The reason I looked at the colt first and last: I carried it for 13 months in a little place called Viet Nam. It got me home safe and sound, and if I had gotten something else, personally I would have felt I let a friend down.
That has nothing to do with colts are better than the rest, etc.; it's only my heart feelings.

Micro for sure. I started wth a PRO and while there's nothing wrong with it I prefer the size of my micro.

I have the Aimpoint T1 with the Larue mount on my AR. Purchased it from Larue and it was like getting the mount for free based on what others we selling the T1 by itself. Works great.

You got a screaming deal, now you've gotta post some pics to appease the masses.

Nice pickup, I'm tempted to grab one as well.

I would recommend trying both if types of aimpoint if you can. If you prefer the micros, it's not unheard of to be able to grab them in the EE for about the same as a PRO + mount.

I recently paid $1098 for one, so that's def a good price IMO.

I traded my DD for a Colt and cash and am glad I did. DD and BCM are great rifles but it's hard to beat the Colt for the price. The finish may not be the best, but it's also far from the worst. You'll be happy with it. I've been able to get slightly better groups (if that matters to you) with m855 over my DD m4v5 that I had. I put a DD fsp 9" lite rail on mine along with a BCM gunfighter charging handle and stock.

$900. is a good price, buy it. A friend has been wanting a Colt 6920 and they're as scare as hens teeth right now. Seems Colt isn't making them and is pushing that Expanse thing. I looked today for my friend and the cheapest online I found was $1,000. for a 6920 slim line magpul.

I recently picked up two of the Magpul 6920s for around $1k. For that price you can't go wrong OP. I'd jump all over that deal.

Bought my LE6920 before Colt started selling them with Magpul furniture. I spent almost as much as the OP did, but then had the added expense of switching out the furniture (much of which was Magpul). I'd say he got a great deal on a great rifle. I'd trust my life any day on my Colt (and did everyday until my agency gave me a DD, so now I bang theirs around and keep mine at home).

Congrats OP - can't go wrong with a Colt! Been thinking about getting one myself. :)

Pics or it didn't happen! ;)

ETA: BTW, I agree with the others about Aimpoint. Great optic.

I liked it better when you could a LE6920-OEM for $725, but today $950 OTD isn't bad at all.

Yep, I've been looking at purchasing a 6920, but they're neigh impossible to find and Grant doesn't have an ETA on getting more in.

Come on, Colt.

Maybe they've slowed production to start pushing out their midlength. ;)

Isn't a bcm upper $440 (+ bcg and ch)
Lower is $330, plus slimline stock and handguard

So it's pretty close to the same price.

At $725 + stock and handguard it was amazing, but when it exceeds $900+ that's equal to bcm/etc

Just picked one up a couple weeks ago, but it wasn't easy. Called around quite a bit and ended up having to drive 40 miles. Still psyched to have one. Not my first AR, but definitely on my gun bucket list.

Good price. I've got one on layaway for $1,050. Kinda excited about finally picking up a Colt after tinkering with lesser brands when it comes to ARs.
