So I picked up a Glock 34 MOS for 3 gun, I put some Dawson Precision MOS non cowitness sights that are pretty nice. My dad will be using this pistol to shoot 3 gun and he wants to shoot in open/unlimited division so he can use a dot. I have an affinity for trijicon products be it accupoints, the old reflex or their night sights so I'm going to go with an adjustable LED RMR. I would really like some feedback on the 3.25 VS 6.5 MOA dots.

I have a G19 with an RM07.

I highly recommend the RM06. Others do as well.

The only "benefit" to the larger dot is it is easier to find. Except it isn't. The 3.25 works just as well while allowing for more precise shooting.

So if you had to do it over would you still choose the RM07? Since this is a 3 gun pistol do you think it the 6.5 dot would be fine shooting plates at say 15-20 yds?

You can always bloom the 3.5 to make it faster to find, but you can't shrink the bigger dot.

No.

There is a similar thread going on here (https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?182365-Trijicon-RMR-LED-Adjustable-for-an-FNX-45-Tactical-Which-one-though) and the consensus is 3.5 as well.

Yes it will work for steel plates at 15-20 yards, but you'll want to stretch its legs and then you're stuck with the larger dot for no benefit.

I agree with the mentality that you can make the smaller dot bigger. Can't make the 6 any smaller...

Just a thought is all.

And concur on the 3.25 MOA; Hell, I'd personally even consider a 1 MOA dot (the RM09), though I dunno if that would be too small for your father to pick up easily.

3.25 seems to be more popular here lately.

I've had both and much prefer the 6.5.

I'm leaning more towards the 6.5, I need to go and look at some in person. If I don't like it I can always keep it and put it on a rifle build I need to finish, it's going to have an ACOG and 6.5 would be great for the rmr piggyback since unless its up super close I'm using the ACOG.

I would not want a 6.5 on a rifle... Perfect (for me) on a HD pistol though.
