View Full Version : New Tactical Solutions 5.5 AR Barrels
Just got our special order of the 5.5" AR15 Light Weight, Threaded Barrels!
The package includes one barrel, one Bolt and one Black Dog Mag for $368. Per TACSOL's request, all barrels must go out as part of builds (so that we can make sure they run properly).
In the custom build below, I really like the DD Omega rail with these barrels as it is perfect fit with little wasted space.

Oh My....(self edit)...I have got to get out of Massachusetts......
The fruit of two well-spent tax stamps.
Can't wait.
Would the noise levels be lower on these than the 7.5 or 10.5 barrels while suppressed? Seems like the lower velocity of the rounds would be better, but a lot more unburnt gas though.
Why don't they make a suppressed barrel that is about 8 inches?
Would putting a VLTOR lo-pro gas blockon it make it part of a build? Or must I buy a complete upper?

Why would you put a gas block on a .22lr barrel?
The point of a 5.5" barrel is to keep most bulk high velocity .22lr ammo subsonic. An 8-10" barrel will probably require subsonic ammo.

Correct. The bullet cannot get up to speed so would be quieter.

Buying Integ. suppressed barrels is generally a bad idea.

You must buy a complete upper. If you have parts though, you can send them to us.

Cool, I've waited enough. Go build mine...complete except w/o the rail as I have a Troy rail here.
PM for the price and I'll send a bank check Monday.
ETA: Price for the complete upper as pictured too...:D

That's hot!
I think I'm in need of one!

I was thinking 5.56 pistol, not 22lr. I have a 4" F/F tube I've been itching to use.
