The somewhat older, 80's/90's Colt Sporters in 9mm. I want to SBR one, and I'm curious about fitment with other colt 9mm uppers. Does anyone know if those 10" or 10.5" Colt 9mm uppers would be good to go? I'm finding some of the unused SMG uppers, and was hoping they are gtg.

thanks

Be aware some of the earlier Colts use the large upper receiver pin.

But, these exist... http://www.jsesurplus.com/coltreceiveradapteroffsetbushing.aspx

Yes that's what I was getting at, but doing a poor job of asking. My father, in CT has a 4 older colts, one 9mm, an HBAR and a couple sporters, and I have one as well. I wasn't sure if the 2 size hinge pin thing also infected the 9mm sporters.

Where you already have the complete 9mm rifle... And a reasonable certainty that it runs well, I'd register that lower & just chop the existing barrel in the upper.

Yes, that's a very good plan, but my father would rather not chop the barrel. Always an option though.
