Anyone tried the 8.5inch Palmetto State pistol uppers in either 300 aac or 5.56?

I ordered an 8.5" 300Blk upper last fall. Ordered the Keymod Nitride upper received a SS barrel Picatinny upper. After speaking with them twice I was told that they were out of the Keymod uppers, the upper I received was more expensive and it was my choice to keep it or send it back. So I kept it.
So far with my super sonic reloads and some factory supers and subs it's been 100% reliable without a can, using a PSA lower and their pistol parts kit. Inch-ish groups off the bench at 50 yards using a mini RDS. I'm very happy with the quality.
I'm probably going to SBR it on a Form 1 as a range toy and to dip my toe in the NFA world.

Not exact answer to question asked but I have a 10.5 fixed FSB 5.56mm upper. It works well.

I also have the 10.5 upper (http://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-10-5-5-56-nato-1-7-nitride-upper-without-bcg-or-charging-handle.html) It has worked great for me so far. I only have only fired a few boxes of ammo through it though.

I've got the 8.5", keymod, 5.56 upper, and it works perfectly with M193, M855, and any of my reloads with 55-77gr bullets. I've got it on a Stag lower, with a carbine length buffer tube, a carbine spring and an H3 buffer. I'm satisfied.

I have a PSA 10.5" upper (5.56) with a PSA "Premium" full auto bolt and carrier.
I really like it and it runs great.

However, after the first 400 rounds (Lake City), one of my gas rings went bad.
I replaced all three and shot another 200 rounds and it seems okay.
If the gas rings go out again soon I'll probably contact PSA.
It may have just been a fluke.

I have a 10.5" fsp barrel that is chf and I really like it.
I would not run anything under 10 inches personally. Loss of velocity is pretty significant with the super short 556 barrels

I have a 10.5 premium upper. Put a BCM bolt carrier in it. It has not missed a beat since day one.

I run a PSA 12" fan with their premium bolt carrier group. Shoots great.

Again, not as short as you asked about, but I've been running their 5.56 10.5" CHF upper for a few years and a few thousand rounds with great reliability.
