I have a LMT Defender, 16". Mine came from LMT with the H buffer already in it. The only problem I'm having is with TAP FPD 55gr ammo. The 75gr is fine but the 55gr short cycles atleast once per 10 rounds. I can tell right away it's not loaded as heavy as the 75gr, which is expected. I like the 55gr for home defense to keep penetration through drywall down. I live in one of those neighborhoods with houses right next to each other.
So, switch buffers? To what? Or do you think it's easier to just get the TAP ammo for LE in 5.56 since it's loaded hotter than the .223?
I shot 350 rounds of Prvi Partisan M855 without a problem and 30 rounds of 75gr TAP with no problems. It short cycled three times in one mag of 55gr TAP.
