My son (8 years old) has a bad eye that is only correctible to 80/20. The other eye is perfect uncorrected.

He was had some trouble shooting with the irons on his Crickett .22 and it's been frustrating for him. The other weekend at the range, I let him try my Beretta Neos with an Ultradot on it.

The gun a a bit big for him, so I rigged up a rest on the indoor pistol range and let him go. He repeatedly was able to put all 10 shots into the black at 25 yards. It was a big difference, and we were both thrilled.

I'd like for him to be able to shoot something more his size, and I already have a Walther P22. There are several red-dots available, Walther even has one with their name on it. I also read somewhere of someone using a BSA red dot which is inexpensive as well.

My question is can anyone suggest that the best option would be for a red-dot type optic on a P22? Obviously, I don't want junk but it doesn't need to be an Aimpoint, either. Lightweight is of most importance.

Thanks for your suggestions.
