Hensoldt 2,6x vs. 2x

I have the chance to get Hensoldt's "panzerfaust" optics fairly cheap but I am undecided if I should choose the older 2x17° or the newer 2,6x13°.

The LaRue "Po Boy" Hensoldt is listed as 2.5X magnification. I have one of them and it looks sort of like the one on the left in your pic, but without the eye cup.

Strange- the left one pictured is the older 2x optic.
