I tried a search but did not find an answer. What weight carbine buffers do the experts recommend for each of the following barrels. 16" barrel carbine length gas tube. 20" barrel with rifle length gas tube. 16" barrel with rifle length gas tube.

I'm running an H3 weight buffer in a cavalry arms lower with the 20" upper right now, but I'm not sure if that heavy a buffer hurts reliability. I've only used it for slow fire accuracy shooting so far.

I thought the Cavarms lowers took rifle buffers/springs.

I think the Mk Is had a rifle length buffer tube. The Mk IIs have a carbine length tube.

You're right. Why they would use a CAR spring/buffer on an A1 lenth of pull stock is crazy. It must be a structural issue. But if I'm shooting something with an A1 LOP, I want the better reliability of the rifle buffer and spring.

But going back to your question... if the gun runs with the H3... use it.
