Very well put. Society treats technicians and trade workers like an underclass but the work is difficult, dangerous and increasingly hard to staff. I don't mind the stigma as long as the dollars roll in :)

So much truth in this statement. I know quite a few guys who do carpentry/tile/electric for GCs who's wives don't work and they bring in enough money to pay all the bills to their nice house, nice cars, and expensive self-provided health insurance.
