I'm in CA so I've got the whole 10 rounds, BB thing going on. After taking a defensive carbine class I'm convinced 20 round mags will be easier to handle than the 10 and 10/30 rounders I have. Does anyone make a quality 10/20 that can be disassembled for cleaning? I have 10/30 hexmags and I assume their 10/20 mags can be disassembled, but I find if I'm too aggressive in seating the Hexmags I can jam the mag past the mag release and jam the thing in there (BCM lower)

PMags

I thought the 10/20 PMags were riveted 20's. If so, I guess that would work ok if at least you could get the spring out.

PMags are available in 10 - 20 - 30 and 40 round configurations. The 10 rounders look a little short but they run great. I don't know about Kalifornia's legal restrictions but, if legal it would be possible to block a standard capacity PMag down to 10 rounds. Here's a link to the 10 round PMag (https://www.magpul.com/products/pmag-10-ar-m4-gen-m3).

Riflegear Costa Mesa, CA

You should not have to clean PMAGS unless they are dropped in mud, etc.

these guys epoxy spring to block that limits capacity, so they can be disassembled for cleaning, was going to get a couple myself, but have not ordered through them yet..

they also sell the straight body 10/20rd pmags

Can you just buy/use standard 10 round P-mags?

I live in a free state and they are what I primarily use on the bench at the range, especially with new shooters or when someone else is shooting my ammo. They can only waste 10 rounds instead of 30.

I have actually decided to stick with the 10-round PMags, the issue being I'm looking at how to best attach a UBBT (Ultimate Bullet Button Tool). After studying the mags it looks like I can mount the tool on the baseplate with very little difficult. The 20 round mags provide a bit more to hold onto especially when you have to twist the things around to press the BB, but with the UBBT on the baseplate manipulation should be a breeze. I took an AR class a few days ago and mag changes with a BB stink.

Also look into linking two 10 rounders end to end, which makes the combo about as long as a 30 rounder. There are baseplates that accomplish this.
