M80A1 but I am curious about what they are doing to the mv of these new rounds.

Never seen a 2-part steel core bullet more accurate than a lead core.

Precision is not their use case.

The new round incorporates a hardened steel tip, a longer bullet profile and upgraded propellant, all of which give it improved penetration through hardened targets and greater accuracy.

Whoops. Sorry, mis-read.

Tell me more about what this round is used for.

Super flourish by BAE, we have a few pallets and these are only going in belt fed. Difference in "accuracy" in a belt feed is like saying "I can hit a van at 300m with M80 vs. I can hit a truck at 400m with the new an improved M80"

Close but not the same.

BAE Offering is longer and heavier, fully jacketed.

Putting holes in vehicles/cover at greater distance.

If the precision comparison is the same between M193 and M855 I'd assume dispersion will be greater. Hard to get concentricity with three elements (core, penetrator, and jacket). It can be done (a la Canadian Dominion Green Tip) but it's pricier.

They are more accurate than M855 and M193.
