Forgive me if this has been covered, my searches came up empty. I want to remove the mag safety on my Browning Hi Power, I have read on other less reliable sites that this is not difficult for an amateur, and Novak only charges $25.00 to perform this operation a la carte. So, I ask the question, has anyone performed this and what are the specific steps involved?

I did it to my pistol when I was like 17 or 18 years old. I've had the same pistol ever since but it was pretty reasonably simple.

As long as you can do some detail strip and reassembly you should be able to handle it and save $25 for the smithing plus possibly far more than that to ship it to Novak. Frankly any smith in your area could do it.

That shows better than I can explain.
