I am with you on this one, love Zakk Wylde and his guitar melting solos. Here is one of him ripping up a cover of Machine Gun Man on a crappy Epiphone guitar.

I will have to think about who I would put on my list and what songs.

I was listening to "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" on my way home from work, I ran in to an old friend and a cold beer and asked him, "Why did the Stones keep Keith Richards when they had Mick Taylor?" Taylor was a master, Richards, well, not so much.
My Friend agreed, but had no answer.

That is so hard to limit to ten.

I left out GnR, Metallica, Nirvana, Queen, the Who and more. Did not capture some of the listed artists better works (like Hendrix- Watchtower) How about Chuck Berry? I see Ozzy a few times and no Mr Crowley?

Blue Sky - Duane Allman
Layla - Clapton - Derek and the Dominos
Stairway to Heaven - Page
Stairway to Heaven - Joe Bonamassa
Anytime Joe Bonamassa picks up a guitar
Jessica - Dicky Betts
Reeling in the Years - Steely Dan - had to look up guitarist - Elliott Randall
Pride and Joy - Stevie Ray Vaughan
Little Martha - Duane Allman

I hit a rough patch about 1974, busted myself up in an MC accident, new to the marriage thing and wasn't sure I'd made the right choice, I went to sleep every night with Eat A Peach on the cheap turn table playing both records. To this day Jessica, BLue Sky, Little Martha can take me to a happy place.

3. Whoever does those blues licks on the studio track of Tracy Chapman's "Give Me One Reason".

It may very well have been her. If not, it was Adam Levy.

ETA: here ya go...

Working with Norah Jones was just one experience in a string of elite gigs for Levy. A few years prior he had met Tracy Chapman, who invited him to play on her mid-’90s masterpiece, New Beginning. Levy’s guitar earns the limelight in the bluesy “Give Me One Reason,” which won Best Rock Song at the 1997 Grammy Awards.

If you could have seen them do this live... it was quite a thing... hard to tell where the sax ended and the guitar began and vice versa. I've never heard anyone do it since.

It was mesmerizing ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLsXib4VFdA They just faded between the instruments so closely voiced. Danny Gatton was the ultimate in fun soloing. He wasn't just Jazz, Rock, he wasn't Metal, he wasn't Rockabilly... he was 'fun'. A total joy to listen to and watch. You really felt good after having seen him.
