How do the Aimpoint and Eotech Red Dot Sights compare to each other? What are the advantages of each over the other?Which between the Aimpoint and Eotech Red is better for CQB.Which also among them is better for long distance shooting? For a Carbine(M4A1)with a 14.5 Inches Barrel, which among these two Red Dot Sights do you personally prefer? And why?
Thanks.

The Eotech is arguably better for both. The 65MOA ring gets you quick shots in close, and the 1 MOA dot is finer than even the smallest Aimpoint 2MOA dot allowing you to make distance shots.

But Eotechs have a shoter bettery life and are more prone to failure. I ditched mine recently and am now sporting two Aimpoint setups. Never saw an Eotech go down, but the 80,000 plus hour battery life of the Aimpoint M4s was a tad too much to turn down:D

For some info on Eotechs going TU, check this thread out:

Look into the threads provided by Thekatar and do more research on your own and I belive you will find the vast majority of users will prefer the Aimpoint, especially the real world end users. If I remember correctly, Mr. Larry Vickers is a big proponent of Aimpoints, and endorsements do not get any better than that. Me, I've personaly used, in the past, a Bushnell Holosight. And some Eotech fans may argure it is nothing close, but it does use the exact type of reticule. And after aquiring and comparing it with my first Aimpoint, well I am now a big Aimpoint fan myself and will never consider an Eotech again. I have and may again look to various models of ACOG's but all future scopes (other than precision rifles) will be either an Aimpoint or an ACOG.

Please do more research and pick the one that you feel will meet your own needs, if possible join a local range and try out both from local guys, most will be more than glad to help a fellow enthusiast out.

Search in the optics section.

Much info there.
