View Full Version : What is the M4C consensus on carbon fiber handguards?

Specifically something like the Lancer FF ones, not the polymer Magpul ones.

I have a Lancer FF handguard on a build and am thinking of doing another. I like the light weight and the feel of the octagonal smooth surface. I'm not hanging a bunch of stuff off of it like lights or lasers and I don't use a VFG either (I get the longer ones that allow me to C-grip the weapon far enough out that it feels comfortable on my wrist).

The other contender in this field is the PRI tubes, but they aren't nearly as light as the Lancers and are about $100 more. I have a PRI on a 20" build and like it but not sure I'd put one on a carbine-type weapon.

I speak for no one else, but after seeing what happens to carbon fiber arrows when they explode...no way in hell.

What is the purpose of the rifle it's going on?

Go-to gun.

From what I've read on the strength of carbon fiber anything that would break/crack a CF handguard would dent an aluminum one irreparably.
