I get those all of the time. Most are people who are just trying to figure this place out. I always point them in the right direction.

About tin foil hats,...,many years before internet and gun forums, I was suffering from a flu bug and was sitting in a very large waiting room of a very large clinic. Next to me was a nice looking, clean cut young man who insisted on talking. He was complaining about radio waves from Mars interfering with his brain waves. I felt too bad even to get scared but did ask him if his doctor's treatment was helping. He said no and then added that the only thing that helped was putting tin foil in his cap. So maybe this expression has a real history after all.
