What type weapon is being carried by the German policeman on the left?

I believe that is an HK MP7.

Homeboy on the right is wearing Adidas.
That's all I need to know.

me and my Adidas do the illest things.
We like to stomp out pimps with diamond rings.
We slay all suckers who perpetrate
and lay down law from state to state.
We travel on gravel, dirt road or street
I wear my Adidas when I rock the beat.
On stage, front page every show I go
it's Adidas on my feet high top or low"

Yes it is. I am a tad surprised the guy on the right has a Glock holstered and not an HK variant.

And it looks to be a Gen 2 or earlier from that angle.

I never realized the MP7 was that small. It almost looks like a toy rather than a sub-gun.

I think it was LAV who said it's small enough to shoot like a regular pistol if need be.

Saw british coppers in front of Horse Guards in London carrying them. Actually had a long talk about them. Now the guy was a big dude but it looked like the size of a Glock 34 with a telescoping stock. Pretty tiny.

This begs a question. How effective is the 4.6mm? I know of one guy whose dept had a shoot with a P90 and the guy lived. Black tip ammo and all.

They went to SBRs after that.

I myself had a PS90 when they first came out and got out of it while I could still recoup almost all I had in it. I thought it would be the modern HK94.

In my 20s mind, I thought I would have these far out cyberpunk anime adventures. And....The sight was kinda awkward depending on how sunny it was, the trigger was heavy, and it did absolutely nothing a Ruger 10/22 couldn't do. I exploded, sorta, exactly one squirrel with it.

My biggest hindsight regret is that for almost a fraction of the cost, I could've still gotten a cheap Marlin 983 when there were like oodles of them. Now I couldn't find one to save my life.

From what i've read the 4.6 and 5.7 are about equal. HK claims better armor penetration (CRISAT plate (1.6mm of Titanium plus 20 layers of Kevlar) at 200m where the 5.7 started fragmentation at 150-180m) but on paper their ballistics are very similar. Both were designed with armor penetration in mind and not for use against unarmored subjects.

For police work I think I would rather have a 9mm subgun (I still like my PS90 though).

I believe this photo is from the same incident. The cop in the middle seems to be carrying a G36 variant, or is it some other weapon?

I dunno. Throughout the years I've had my grubby mitts on an MP5 and a Colt SMG and while they were fun and made you feel like the baddest mofo ever...

I'm at a point where I'd sooner have a good AR carbine and some Ballistic Silvertip.

I know Europe has a way different police culture, but I don't know why they don't get shorty HK 416s or M4s. 20 rounders for patrol ready and 30 rounders in their ammo pouches.

It's better than being unarmed I guess.

It is. He just has the updated stock.

Of them all he seems best prepared for any kerfuffle

No doubt, a suppressed short rifle would be the best choice, but I would rather have any subgun in the world vs just a pistol.

WOW I guess GSG9 actually wears the Adidas GSG9 boots. Who would have thought.

Do those helmets in the above photo look heavy or what. I couldn't imagine wearing them all day.

We have a few MP5 at work mostly converted to Sims for fun as when playing the bad guy. A couple of officers are always dying to put the MP5s back into service. I've always stated MP5s are a big pistol and I would rather have a rifle round when the fight goes outside. David

There was a thread here years ago about the 4.6 (maybe the 5.7 as well). A couple guys had real world experience with it as PMC. If I remember correctly they said it worked decently at closer ranges when bursts were used.

Yes it is. I am a tad surprised the guy on the right has a Glock holstered and not an HK variant.

Possible explanations:

1) Not enough Rainbow 6 being played there.
2) Firearms celebs opinions not being translated into German.
3) They know that a Glock 19 or 17 is TEN-TIMES-the-gun any pistol HK makes.

It's the truth.

Even if HK transitioned tomorrow to using a normal magazine release across their whole line they couldn't hang with Glock.

More likely that it's just another Austrian who has somehow convinced another German that it's German, not Austrian.

It's probably only a matter of time until Lower Saxony annexes Deutsch-Wagram and Niederösterreich.

Or, and most likely, someone responsible for issuing German police officers their equipment went
"Here's your sidearm." and handed him a Glock.
