They are not saying where it will be streamed but Fox to air it, probably RedBull will have a hand in it. .. and something named Heaven Sent.

Just Google Luke Aikens Skydiver ... or check your local Fox network near 8PM Eastern

Supposedly no wingsuit and to land in some sort of cargo net that is 20 stories of the ground and about the 1/3 size of a football field.

Apparently no backup once he crosses 5K ft.

Broadcast on delay for obvious reasons.

Do people just wake up in the morning and ponder dumb shit to do?

Well if you want your 15 minutes of fame, I suppose burying yourself without the need for a grave digger is better than deciding to shoot a school up for attention.

I'm pretty sure if Hillary gets elected, we'll all be doing this.

Years ago, there was a story going around about an SF guy at Bragg who burned in on a failed HALO jump. Pine trees saved him, thus becoming the very first HANO.

Yeah - he really survived it.

Damn, that last 5K was pretty exciting. It's amazing what people can figure out. The guy that thought of this mailed the idea to himself 18 years ago. The jumper has trained for it I think his wife said about 1.5 years.

It's a good thing a wind didn't kick up because he didn't exactly land dead center.

I don't know how people like that turn off the "I'm gonna die" switch.

This guy stole my idea for how to deal with illegals who commit crimes and Muslims here to destroy us (I'll leave you to guess which proportion of them that is).

I was waiting for the Super Dave Osborne cut to obvious crash test dummy/mannequin lamding then cut back to him jumping up all smiles and thumbs up.

And his wife no doubt said, "NOW, I'm going shopping and you aren't even allowed to raise an eyebrow when the credit card statement comes!"

Talk about big brass nards. Dude jumps with no parachute from 25,000 feet!

Skydiver Luke Aikins Sets Record For Highest Jump Without Parachute

Luke Aikins on Saturday became the first skydiver to jump from a plane without a parachute or wingsuit and live to tell the story.

In a stunt called, "Heaven Sent," the 42-year-old daredevil leaped 25,000 feet to Earth –- setting the world record for the highest jump. To accomplish this feat, Aikins had to direct his body in free fall using only the air currents around him to land safely on the high-tech 10,000-square-foot net (about a third the size of a football field) laid out to catch him.

The jump was aired live on television via the Fox network during an hour-long special. Aikins fell for about two minutes above the California desert, appearing to soar effortlessly, arms extended, face downward. And as he neared the ground, with a mere second to go, he expertly flipped onto his back and landed without incident.

I watched this. That guy is nuts. Sure there was a good chance he could land this thing, but there was also a good chance that he'd die. For what?

Didn't Travis Pastrana do something like this a few ears ago? Jumped out of a plane with just a pair of shorts and shoes. Grabbed on to another guy with a chute and held on for dear life?

People are crazy. I'd never do something like this. I'll do other stupid stuff, but not anything THIS stupid.

Only in America can I not see the jump in its entire length due to copyright concerns pulling every available "live" copy from the internet. I guess everyone has to make their money and add their "spin" to this too.

****ing lawyers.

Nice. CNN had a little more footage, but with the annoying running commentary in the background. I really just wanted to see the original, unedited full-length jump video that they were using for clips. Kinda funny that the article said "he landed almost in the middle of the 100x100' net".
