I bought a CMMG early this year (see thread "Rolling the Dice?") and now wish I had waited until Noveske's N4 middy came out, but back then it was vaporware. In your case, BCM is also available! Why not spend a little more and go first class?

Staking was light on my upper, but that's easily fixed. It also had an incorrect FSB and CMMG replaced it, but what a waste of time (after a 5 month wait the first time!) Search around and you'll find many respondants with QC and CS problems. Granted, you may end up with a 100% beautiful upper...but you're rolling the dice.

ETA: to sight in, you'd have to raise the top of the post above the height of the FSB's protective wings!

I have a CMMG upper...didn't have an 'F'-marked FSB and ended up changing out the front sight post. But it shoot ok.

I have a CMMG. I'm quite satisfied and would buy another.

If you go the CMMG route, then you can get them for a big discount off CMMG's list price from Pete at Evil Black Rifles or Bryan at AIM.

Good luck,

Ben

This also looks like a great deal: http://www.southernmichiganarms.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=50&category_id=8&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=44&vmcchk=1&Itemid=44

The best part is not having to wait 3 to 4 months. :p

They do make nice quality uppers though, I'll give them that.

Better options out there for the same or less $.
