Finished a build with a 16", Wylde chambered, 1in 8 barrel.
Using a MI 15" FF rail.
Although I'm a 30+ year reloader I don't care to screw around with volume reloading for this.
Looking for recommendations for factory ammo that will maximize the accuracy potential of this barrel.

I'd start with some of the FGMM and BHA offerings and work from there.

Good Luck,
Keith

I have had really good results with the CBC Mk 262 clone.

My BCM and Noveske both shoot less than MOA with it. Very consistent.

It isn't as good as the Black Hills offering of this, but a whole lot cheaper when you can find it.

On edit, I see G & R has it in stock at a very good price.

I'm pretty new to the precision AR game but I've been happy with the accuracy of Australian Outback with the 69gr. matchkings. I especially like that it shoots well for me so far and it's $12/20.

ETA: The IMI "razor core" 77gr. matchking has been decent for me as well.

If you can find Hornday Steel Match, it shoots very well...both the 55g and 75g

I'd avoid any 5.56mm pressure ammo. Wylde chambers commonly exhibit pressure signs with full house 5.56 ammo. I know mine does too. Win makes a 69 gr MATCH load. Black Hills has a .223 pressure 69 and 77 gr load. I DEFINITELY like 77 gr bullets because we shoot long range. But 300 yards and in, 69 grain stuff is great.

Prvi partizan 75gr match.

The win 69gr match was a waste in my gun, maybe yours will like it more.

Any vmax load will give good accuracy. For cheap the AE black box 50 gr varmint is good for 100yds or so.

It may say match on the box...it aint match.

Most of that stuff is 2 MOA at best.

Same here. The bullets aren't OTM. They're hollow point. I water jug tested them and they open up like hollow points instead of the brilliant frag with 77 gr OTM. I still would shoot the bullets/ammo for the right price because the weight at least partially mimics my more pricey OTM loads.

I don't know what "match" means, but it the most accurate stuff I've shot so far (1.1" 5 shot at 100yds with cl barrel).

And for the black box, I got consistent 1.3" 10 shot groups, maybe I had a good batch.

Hornady 68g Match or Federal 69g Match is good enough for most people. Unless you are shooting past 600 yards, 68g or 69g Match will get the job done. Last Saturday I shot with a group and watched the guy next to me consistently hit a 6" x 6" steel plate at 565 yards with 68g Match.

That's pretty good. We never got any PRVI .223 or .308 to shoot that well. It's good, reliable ammo, but we never got it near MOA.

I stumbled across that pic of the PRVI hollow point bullet (on the right) compared to the 77 OTM (on the left)

Interesting, thanks for posting.

I was going to shoot more yesterday, but we got rained out before we got to the rifles.

I have a bunch of the PRVI 75s loaded up as part of my stash ammo. It's better than 55 gr FMJ for sure. I just never got it to shoot super accurate.

Next time I buy ammo, I'll grab some bh 77gr. You talked me into it.

It beat my handloads in Standard deviations, and of course, velocity... on the day we tested it. Accuracy was hanging right there with the hand loaded stuff too.

5 shots of prvi. I shot 3 shots, with too much finger on the trigger. Moved it out for the last 2. I think I know which are which. 14.5" centurion cl barrel, stock trigger, leupold 1.25-4 vxr patrol.

I'm going to pick more up and make a dedicated trip to the range to try and get a couple good 10 shots.

Edit: This is the first group I shot from this stuff before I had it dialed in. Same gun/scope.

75gr Gold Dot is a pretty solid performer and has very good terminal performance to boot. Should run in a 1/8. Using my DDM4 with about 5k through it, CHF gov. barrel, I get 1.4-1.8 MOA off a sand-bag using a 4X NF FC-2 reticle. 10 shot groups, at 100y.

Made it to the range yesterday and shot groups with a couple loads I had picked up last week.
I have 1x6 Trijicon "Accupoint" for optics with the Mil reticle. Had a half assed bag set up off the bench, as my rest/bunny bags are at the ranch.
I think that with proper range equipment and more appropriate "precision glass" the rifle will likely shoot better than what I experienced yesterday.
Realistically, the practical accuracy of groups shot is darn good for me.
While it's nice to have all the accuracy I can get, the ability to use that last 1/2 minute under field conditions is tough.

Here's results from a couple loads.
IMI 69 gr. OTM/"Razorcore" shot 1.65" 10 shot group.
Speer 64gr. GD was 1.80" for 10 rds.

I will try some of the 70+ gr. Loads that have been recommended here.

Well, I'm taking back my recommendation of the 75gr ppu. 2 10 shot groups were 2" each. I fell victim to 5 shot groups and coincidence.

Got to the range Sunday.
My rest/bunny bags and crap are at the ranch, shot from bench over my range bag....
Less than ideal.

I shot IMI 77 gr. "Razor Core', BH 70 gr. GMX and Speer GD/64 gr. which I have in abundance.

Only shot 5 rd. groups, hoping to get an idea of potential of loads.
Additionally, 6X ain't a lot of glass for exploring accuracy potential. The Mil-Dot crosshair covered most of my "aiming point".

The GD load was consistently under an inch. The other two loads were in at 1", to 1"+.

For my purpose, the GD load will probably be adquate.
