Recently I reached out to the good folks here for some assistance with one of my rifles. Iraqgunz was nice enough to meet up with me and run Neds reamer in my barrel. Rifle was a Windham that would pop primers with black hills 77 grain ammo consistently (4 out of 5 then I just stopped shooting it). It worked fine with other 5.56 stuff mostly, I think I popped one or 2 with federal xm193 out of 1,000 rounds or so. Here is my follow up letter to him for all to see...
Good evening,
Here us an update on my rifle that you ran neds reamer in. All is good, the same batch of black hills that was popping primers ran without a problem. Unfortunately accuracy wasn't there with that loading. However I had worked up some 75 grain hornady otm for my BCM rifle that gave me excellent results and decided to try that out in that 1/9. Surprising results as it shot as good or better than in my BCM rifle! Out to 200 yards I was getting consistent hits (maby missed once) with that crappy red dot on an a reduced sized idpa steel target. I wonder though if the Hornady 75 grain is significantly different enough from 77 grain match kings as far as working in different twist rates. I also noticed that m193 ammo did not show as much pressure signs as it used to (swipes on brass from ejector). Thanks for your help.
Ryan

Interesting that the gun doesn't shoot 77 BH that well. That's somewhat unheard of. Glad you have some alternate loads though. Nice that the gun runs better too.

I used one of his reamers on 32 departmentally owned guns. Those reamers are worth their weight in gold.

Does the Ned's Reamer open the throat up a bit? That would reduce chamber pressure.

Try this one. The reamer is goof proof. It doesnt mess wirh headspace or shoulder angle.

It makes sense. Opening the free bore reduces chamber pressure. I watch throat erosion on my .30 caliber rifles and as the TE reading increases, muzzle velocity decreases and there are fewer signs of high pressure on fired brass.

This looks like a good product for carbines and rifles that will shoot a wide variety of ammunition.

I have Ned's reamer, gauge, and an original MOACKS. His tools are fantastic, and have helped me fix many rifles.
