Looking to pick up a 30 RAR upper and just wondering how it might sound suppressed. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I honestly had NO IDEA that 30RAR was still a thing. As to how it would suppress, fine but worse than 300blk no doubt as I'm certain no one in the development of the round tried to balance the amount of gas pressure between sub and supersonic loads.

30 Rem AR... I only have a brief memory of that being a thing. That was before 300blk right?

... To the most obvious question... What is it 30RAR is going to do for you that a 556, 300blk, or 6.5G won't? Not putting you off, just curious.

Valid points. Perhaps I should consider a 6.5 Grendel.

Still moving forward with a suppressed 30 RAR. Guess I'll be a pioneer on this one. LOL

Old thread, but I'm wondering how OP made out with this project, I'm a fellow 30 Rem AR fan.

As to what a 30 Rem AR can do that the others can't inside the AR15 platform?... Power!

I'm my opinion it's still to date the flattest and hardest hitting 0-400 yard SAAMI cartridge ever to be stuffed into the AR15. (Not counting the big bores here for raw muzzle energy)

With handloads within book charges, and a factory R-15 22" in 30 Rem AR, I'm getting 2920fps with a 125 Nosler Accubond.

3100 fps from a Barnes 110 TTSX

2850 fps from a Barnes 130 TTSX

2700 150 Nosler BT

2650 155 eld-m.
