Yeah I know I did good!
Picked up an HK 45C LEM for $850.00 with factory Tru Dot night sights! Also came with 4, 8 round and 4,10 magazines as well as 100 rounds of WWB target ammo.
Ad was on a local trader. No pictures but said HK 45C V1 with night sights and 8 magazines, pristine condition. I drove the hour to check it out and when I got there is turned out to be a LEM mode and I really dislike LEM. Asking price was $950.00, I passed. I started to walk away, wasn't trying to low ball, I was really going to pass because my LGS has one for $725.00 with no night sights and two 8 round mags. The $950.00 was still a better deal with those NS's and ALL those mags but I really wanted V1.
The seller argued with me a little bit that V1 WAS LEM but clearly it's not. He kept saying well the box says "V1" right on it. I said, yeah you bought this used didn't you? He said yes he did, I said yep someone else converted it.
He asked me what a V1 would give me LEM wouldn't, I basically said the trigger I'm used to and like! :D
He said make me an offer. I said no, I don't want to insult you and low ball you. He said how much will it cost to do DA/SA? I said maybe $200.00? He said split the difference? I said OK I'll give you $850.00, he said OK after a minute or two of trying to talk me up.
Plus he threw in 100 rounds of WWB for me driving the hour.
I'm not displeased. I still hate LEM but I know I can trade it for DA/SA or sell the parts after the fact, no problem! :)
And before anyone says OH just give LEM a try, you might like it. This is my second LEM pistol, I hate LEM. However the deal was GOOD even with LEM and it will work out in the end! :)
Side note, the was pretty much pristine. There is NO wear on the barrel and I see no wear on almost ALL of the magazines. No one shot this really.
