Hi Guys,

Brand new AR15 enthusiast here. I just picked up a Charles Daley CD-M4LE with stock front sights and I ordered a Troy Industries B.U.I.S. for the rear. I want to learn to shoot with open iron sights before I make an optic purchase. My question is where is my point of aim? Am I covering the target with my front sight or do I hold below the point of aim and dot the i? Been shooting handguns for years but this is totally new for me. I will eventually go with an Aimpoint or Eotech optic but can't decide which one, so I thought I would use the time to learn to shoot with irons. Thanks for the help.

Cut the target in half with the top of your front sight.

The Air Force aims high. Actual combatants aim for the center of the visible mass.
