I decided to take the plunge on a BCM BFH 16" Mid Length (ENHANCED Light Weight) Upper Receiver Group w/ BCM KMR-*ALPHA* 13" Handguard (http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-BFH-16-Mid-Length-ENHANCED-Light-Weight-Upp-p/bcm-urg-mid-16-bfh-elw-kmr-a13.htm) which was ordered last Sunday and delivered on Thursday. I also replaced a CTR stock and MAID grip with the BCM pieces (the Mod 0 BCM grip fits my small hands much better) and a Troy front folding BUIS with BCM logo.
As expected, the new upper looked great right out of the box and the KMR-A handguard fits my hands much better than the MOE handguards I was running previously. The ergonomics of the rifle took a mighty leap forward with these new parts. I installed a very low round count LMT BCG, a KAC micro 600 rear BUIS and an Aimpoint PRO from my pervious upper, hooked it up to my lower and hit the range with it today.
Unsurprisingly, the new upper ran without a hitch. I fed it XM193, SSA Mk262, Black Hills Mk262, Hornady 75 BTHP .223 and some 69 SMK .223 hand loads. I got the irons dialed-in at 50 yards with six rounds and then set the Aimpoint's red dot right on top of the front post. At 50 yards off a bench, this upper was very consistent and showed good precision potential. Here's what three consecutive targets (three different loadings) looked like firing them off one after the other;

I'm confident that with magnified optics this upper would prove to be quite impressive for a lightweight barrel. The rifle as shown below (minus sling and magazine) weighs 7 pounds on the nose, 3 ounces lighter than with the BCM 14.5 LW mid-length with FSB and MOE handguards this new upper replaced. This is my third BCM upper and like the other two, has made me smile.
