View Full Version : Glock 19 gen 3, 10rd mag question
Time to restock. Should I buy gen 4 mags and call it good to go? Or are there better alternatives?

Are there any differences in the mags? I was under the impression that they were all the same, and that the changes to the pistol were in other places.
I *believe* the gen 4 mag is compatible with the gen 3 pistol, with right handed mag release?
I have a Gen 1 17, Gen 3 34, and Gen 4 17.
I use all my mags interchangeably. I think the only issue is if you have a Gen 4 and have it set up for left handed use.

I think, the only new magazines being made now are Gen4 compatible, from Glock. But that does not mean you won't find old stock still in a businesses inventory.
There are also credible magazines in the market place from companies like ETS and Magpul.

Nailed it. They are, fortunately, all interchangeable.

Thanks. Haven't been keeping tabs with changes etc. I'll look into those, but if there are no issues QC or otherwise, I'm fine with current production.
Why 10 rds? Why not normal capacity mags?

If OP lives in a ban state, than thats what he has to use if he's not LE. Really sucks!
^ Right, HI is a ban state unfortunately.
I initially picked up a couple gen 4 mags locally--might get them vetted by the end of the week. Finally got to handle a gen 4 G19.
I'm about to order mag replacement springs. Any preferred stores I should check out or avoid?

With the 10 round mags you want to use the #3 follower to be able to get the 10 round in the mag.
