I cant leave well enough alone.

I have my brand new unfired G19 Gen 4 frame sitting as the upper is on week two at L&M Precision for a RM06 install along with front serrations.

I have huge hands and ordered a SI 2 piece magwell to keep from trapping the mag.

I want a 19M but will wait patiently... but decided to remove the finger grooves carefully from the front strap to retain the front strap traction squares.

this got me to thinking.....is there anyone doing a 4 X 11 row square indention or 88 raised single depressions (exact opposite on the front strap) to go on top of the two flattened finger grooves?

I don't know what it would look like but just have it rolling around in my head.

still needs more work to flatten the finger groove to the frame.

I just got rid of the grooves and did a light texture down the entire front strap.

Reminds me of a Gen 1. Nicely done!

Both look really nice. Unfortunately my 19 is cerakoted so I can't remove them. Good choice on using L&M though. He has done 3 RMRs for me and all are outstanding.

+1 here. Mark at L&M is top notch!

I am done for now. Hopefully with heavy handling, it will blend my sandpapered areas.

Still would like to find someone that is skilled to match the opposite of the raised squares on the Gen 4 for the front strap areas between the raised squares and the thumb area on the frame.

I also developed a callous from a grip force adapter (Gen 3 G19) on my thumb knuckle ......it hit me to just trim the sides of the GFA.....so I did (both sides).

I did the other side later in the day.

I did the same to my Gen3, OP.

I do NOT regret it.

I have stippled a couple of my Glock 19s and I have thought about the same things as you have. The only idea I have had is to carefully smooth off the finger gooves as best as you can. Then using the existing pyramids as a guide, and with a pencil and straight edge, draw in the "grid squares" of where the new pyramids should be. Then with a woodburner, carefully place a "dot" for each pyramid. I know this is not exactly what you are looking for, but the texture is so small I think it might fool the eye, and actually look factory. I think I may try it on a G19.4 I have as a volunteer. If it doesn't work, I can always go back over for a standard stipple grip.

Yes! Yes! Yes!

I thought about taking a piece of masking tape and drawing or measuring my center points (same as your thought process) and affixing it perfectly to the flattened area.

Me.....Mr Fumble Fingers or missing the mark with the hot tip, I would be leery on this project, but hell, if I mess up....oh well, it's a Glock.

It's gonna get treated rough.

I hope you don't mind me waiting to see your finished project first, but who knows.....I may just do it.

I don't have the proper tip....could you give me your recommendation for the right heat applicator?

UPDATE
L&M Precision is waiting on my RMRed slide to return from refinish....black nitride.

That came out great. I did the same thing to my Gen 3 G19 a while back. It feels great and shoots even better. :)
