Anyone with experience tell me if fitted Bar-Sto barrels for glocks are GTG on a defensive gun?

I put a Lone Wolf Distributors barrel in a G19 and couldn't be happier! Noticeable improvement in accuracy!!

I installed the semi-fitted in my G23 and it has over 11000 rounds thru it. NO ISSUES. The one I installed in an old HP had a very tight chamber. It caused some extraction and feed issues. I had a friend open the chamber up to spec. Now it works great - only about 1800 rounds but no issues.

IMO Barsto is the best barrels made for handguns.

I understand there considered the best in most people circles. What I'm trying to ascertain is will it reduce the reliability in my Glock? I use my Glock for self defense and want to be sure it is GTG in that role.

What is the reason for changing the stock barrel out?

If you do change, you need to test it just like any other modification. It must function 100% before you stake your life on it!
Like Todd asked: Why are you changing? Glock barrels are fairly good - it takes a lot of abuse to wear one out. There great for the intented purpose.

Most people who do this want to improve on the marginal accuracy of the OEM barrel.... or be able to shoot lead bullets without worry.

I'm too cheap to buy an aftermarket barrel. ;)

A properly fitted BarSto barrel will almost certainly improve the mechanical accuracy of the Glock. Whether it improves the practical accuracy in the OP's hands depends a whole lot more on him than the gun or barrel.

I got a KKM barrel per LAV's recomendation and there is a noticable increase in accuracy. I don't shoot within it's full potential, but definitely a noticable difference.

The Bar-Sto in my G23 loves 165gr (less than half the size of org barrel)but about the same size group as org on 180gr. The org barrel shoots 165 and 180gr about the same. The real difference is on lead reloads. GREAT!

Planning on getting a suppressor so I want to get a threaded barrel ;)
