Headed to the FFL to pick up a Glock mag lower that just came in. Looking for inspiration for a build. Honestly don't have a direction for the build picked out yet so im not sure what it's use will be. Not opposed too building a pistol but would prefer a carbine. So let's see them and see if I can get any ideas for my own build. Thanks

I'm new to ar pistols and wanted to try my hand in building a 9mm variant. I really didn't know what to expect. And after researching builds I came up with this. And so far the only thing that could improve it would be to SBR it along with a suppressor. So far I've put 500 trouble free rounds through it. Zero malfunctions. Crazy one ragged hole accuracy at 25 yards!

Faxon 8.3 Barrel
KAK Shockwave Pistol tube and brace
Vltor a5 H4 buffer with a 308 carbine spring

Mine started as this. QC10 lower, QC10 3.25" barreled upper, AAC Ti-Rant 9 silencer. I had all kinds of problems with the Ti-Rant so in February I bought a SiCo Omega 9K.

Next was this. Cut down the handguard, swapped out the sights for a Bushnell red dot and added SiCo Omega 9K.

And then this. Swapped the handguard, added vertical grip and cerokoted Tungsten Grey.

I'm waiting on the tax stamp for my Angstadt Arms 9mm lower and for the suppressor. Lots of fun to shoot! I need to buy a G17. All my Glocks are .40's.

I went the easy route and bought a Lone Wolf G9. Changed out the $2.99 grip w/ a rubber Hogue. Also got rid of the El Cheapo stock for an MFT stock.
So far I love it. No failures of any kind. Little heavy. 2.5X Primary Arms might be a tad much but these peepers aren't getting any younger.
Only major complaint is the bolt does not lock back after last round.41565

Glock mags are too wide for standard AR receiver mag wells...

Quite a few dedicated glock mag lowers out there and prices have come down quite a bit in recent months. PSA currently has a billet for 129 and a forged for 119.

Use to think these Glock mag lowers were ugly due to the angle, but the looks has grown on me. When I got the chance to shoot one I found the angle made it very confortible when griping the mag well with the support hand. Recently bought myself a QC10 Glock lower as well.

I have one and so does a friend, they have been 100% reliable. We have used them in USPSA matches in PCC.

I had two issues with my PSA AR9.

My bolt was hitting the ejector. PSA handled that repair.

The Geissele SSA I installed would not reset reliably. I switched to an ALG ACT FCG with KVP springs. Runs fine now.

Trying to decide between a QC10 upper or trying a side charging upper from x products or Gibbz...anyone have any experience with the side charging uppers? It'll be going on a QC10 glock small frame lower and planning a 5.5" barrel. Lower came in last month!!!

Finally got my aimpoint on. Never did get my titleiiarms fake can, finally had to call my bank and dispute the charge. Tried repeatedly to contact them with no luck... Looks like I'll be shooting without the rail or suppressed all the time once my can gets approved.

I had a complete 16" palmetto upper with both their colt and glock lowers. I couldn't get either to run, and eventually sent it back. It still had problems, and I got rid of it. Sample of one (or two, however you look at it). I have a 16" QC10 build right now that is working great. I'll try to get some pictures up later, but build list is

Upper
QC10 upper
QC10 bolt
BCM ambi CH
QC10 16" barrel
ALG 13" forend
thread protector (no muzzle device for now)

Lower
QC10 Glock lower
Palmetto LPK and RE (had them around already)
Vltor A5H4 buffer (works like an extended 9mm buffer, and I had it already) with A2 action spring

So far, with only a few hundred rounds through it, I have been very happy. I decided to try PCC at an indoor match last night, and besides me not seating one mag firmly enough, no issues.

I built mine as a trainer gun that I could load ammo cheaper and easier (no brass trimming, messing with crimped primer pockets, etc.). I can also set up steel closer. For that purpose, it has been working great. Plus putting a can on it makes it very quiet, and is always a lot of fun to shoot.

Patiently waiting for my billet PSA 9mm Glock lower to arrive.

Went with a Spinta slick side upper, Spinta BCG, Kaw 16" barrel and Konza rail, with a JP compensator, with Magpul furniture.

Going with a standard rifle build to not have to deal with NFA bs. I will use this to plink at public ranges.

I had the same decision to make and I decided on a 16" rifle. Haven't tried the AR pistol route yet, little too mall ninja for me.

I also went 16" rifle because I don't want to wait. I am not a fan of pistol braces, I'd rather just SBR and have a 16" barrel, while I wait for paperwork.

Agreed...did an AR pistol on an Anderson lower while I had a Wilson lower being engraved for my SBR. So I have the brace just lying around... One nice Jung about the "pistol" is easier interstate travel but then again the shouldering issues rears its ugly face so I'm leaning towards rifle.

Yes that's another thing to consider. Here in Ohio it would be legal for me to keep an AR pistol loaded in the vehicle with my CCW license. I may build one up with just a padded buffer tube.

Im in Ohio as well and that along with the interstate travel was one of the reasons I did the pistol the first time...unfortunately people wouldn't quit asking the same damn question so it's no longer quite as appealing...

I've been running a PSA 9 for a bit now and it's been awesome. I replaced the stock trigger with a Geissele SSA-E and it's a blast to shoot. It's my new go-to gun for bunny hunting

I'm looking to pick up a JR Carbine. A lgs has the 9mm for $425 and the 40sw for $375 both used. Very tempting as I have Glock19/27.

The only downside with the JR is that the lower does not have the 2 takedown pins like a standard AR. A minor inconvenience but negligible given the price and availability of mags/ammo.

Has anyone had issues with Lawman 147s FTF?

Feed. Nose of the round would catch on the barrel and fail to chamber. I can't remember if it was only out of the ETS mags, but I think it happened with some factory Glock mags also.

Stick with round nosed bullets.
