I may be one that a small magwell on a G19 will not work.

My hand will get cut with the Suarez Magwell as the edges are sharp. I thought about dehorning but the well is very thin and did not want to take a $75 chance on ruining the part. A buddy purchased the magwell (he has smaller hands)

anyway....before I purchase another and find out its too sharp on the meaty portion/heel area of my primary hand (either side)....

I am looking at Agency Arms as it appears rounded edges as opposed to the Suarez which is sharper edges.

Don't get me wrong, the Suarez is nice and I felt an improvement with dry mag changes but my hand overhang will get cut with hard use on the edge. (see pic)

I am looking for a magwell to improve mag change process (which I experienced with the Suarez) and looking to minimize trapping the mag which I do with no magwell.

if anyone with large hands and the slim Agency Arms Magwell on a G19/23/32 (not the 17/22/31) could chime in with the overall feel and comfort level (or will the edge cut you) and if so, I will go no magwell.

not looking at large competition magwells as this will be my G19 RMR conceal carry or in a bag.

I am looking at this AA magwell... http://www.brownells.com/handgun-parts/frame-parts/mainspring-parts/mainspring-housings/minimalist-magwell-for-glock-gen-4-prod85949.aspx

thanks in advance

I have both the Suarez and Agency magwells on Gen 4 19s. Here's a comparison:

Thanks for the images.

if the nose of a bullet is pointed @ 12 O'Clock in relation to the magwell

from roughly 3 to 9 Oclock on both magwells, can you compare the edges as far as being sharp. I know what the SI feels like.

while the AA looks to have more of a smooth dehorned edge, seeing and feeling is two different things.

thanks in advance

The Agency magwell is smoother pretty much everywhere. They did a better job of deburring/dehorning/whateveryouwanttocallit the whole thing. Even the finish is smoother. ;)

This is my 19 with the Zev magwell. The scalloped portion of the sides is pretty sharp. I dont think it would cut me but its not smooth. I also have fairly small to average hands and if my hands were any bigger I would hate it. It was actually uncomfortable until it was stippled and undercut.

does the big screw dig into your palm?

SW,

I think we have similar hands and I just never could get used to the G19. I always pinched my palm when doing reloads. Do you have a similar issue? Is the magwell an attempted solution? I think if I had got a G17 I would still have it. I ended up buying an MP9 Pro which solved the reloading issue but life changed shortly after that which has reduced the amount of shooting I do substantially.

I don't even notice it. If I were to buy another it would probably be the Suarez or Agency because they are more appealing with the screw indented. I bought the zev for this one because everything else on the gun is zev.

I have to move my hand out of the way (or re-position) on mag changes. I think I pinched myself one time and began to re-position.

Yes, the mag well was to provide a little extra grip without sacrificing conceivability.

I have two G17s but for some reason, I am much more accurate and faster with the G19. Thats why I chose that platform for my RMR project.

I am still on the fence but leaning toward the Agency Arms MW.

I did shoot the G19 well but it just didn't fit my hand well. I'm tempted to get a G17 to give Glock another try simply because Glock magazines are so cheap. I'm also tempted to build a 9mm carbine and there are several options that take G17 magazines as well as the 33 round ones. The MP just doesn't have the same advantages.

Went to a match today and someone had a AA G17 with the AA magwell.

Edges are rounded. YAY! While not a G19, I did press hard and rolled my finger across the edge. Still felt comfortable.

now to find one. most are out of stock/back order.

I'm assuming you want Gen4, no backstrap, in black: It is in stock as of this post.

I have fairly large hands and have the ZEV Pro on one of my 19's and an RCS Freya on my Roland Special. I really like both, but the Freya gets the nod and I will purchase them from now on. I also have them on a 17 and a 34 as well as another ZEV Pro on another 17. I had an Agency on a Gen4 19 and I really liked the lines and finish on it, but it just didn't fit right with my hands. The Freya, in my opinion, is probably the best G19 magwell out there.

Can you provide a link to your Freya on your RS?

My G19 pinches sometimes, but not enough to be a big deal.

If it was, I would either get a Glock17, or remove a little material from the base of the butt where it pinches my hand so the magazine base never goes against it to cause a pinch.

Consider +2 base plates as well. They lessen the pinch for me too, it seems.

Got me an AA no backstrap and its a WINNER! no sharp edges and the overall feel is great.

my undercut is still a work in progress. I have to go further fwd because my middle joint bends underneath the trigger guard.

my RMRed upper is at the refinishers (black nitride), so hopefully its in my hands in a few weeks!
