Where to find 308 lowers?

I'd like to pick up a 308 lower. Was planning on an Aero Precision M5 (I've had good luck with other Aero stuff) but my dealer says they're 8-12 weeks out. PSA is out too (I just bought a KS47 and AR9 but they had zero AR15/AR10 lowers in stock).

Any other suggestions? I'm just looking for a stripped lower for now as due to new California laws I need to buy what I want by the end of the year and only have so much money.

You can order stripped or complete lowers directly from ArmaLite. You have to get your FFL to order it I believe, but you need to send it to one anyway.

Nope. Armalite says they have enough back orders on complete AR10 rifles until years end at least. No more lowers or stripped lowers will be available for sale. Just uppers and rifles. I talked to them a couple weeks ago.

Sucks. Because I need an A-style lower. :(

And nobody else makes an Armalite-compatable lower right now. Wish ya luck. You can find the B-style lowers on gunbroker etc.

I contemplate buying a complete rifle just for the lower, then selling the upper it came with.

Matrix aerospace receiver sets come up regularly on gb. Lower uses armalite parts kit, upper is dpms type but rail is armalite height. They make the receiver sets for ruger sr762.

.308 ARs aint like AR-15s. Can't just mix and match lowers and uppers.
I would at least get a lower and upper set, if not a complete rifle when it comes to the 308 ARs.

Yep. I used to think there were two major patterns, dpms and Armalite.

No sir! It's like building an AK thinking all you have worry about is milled vs stamped. It's near futile. Complete rifle is the way to go and only use functional parts from that company.

I eventually found an Aero M5 lower for MSRP so I bought that. I don't understand why they're so hard to find right now... I've had good luck with Aero stuff so I'll probably go with one of their M5E1 uppers too.

spikes tactical has 308 lowers, they are forged 7075 just like there ar 15 lowers but im curious why i cant find hardly any reviews or info about them,unlike there ar 15 lower counterparts which are usually pretty good
