I would like to go to a pistol course. I have a Colt XSE, wilderness instructor belt.

What would you suggest for a mag carrier and holster? I would like the carrier and the holster for CCW. Any suggestions for a dressy gunbelt. Can't wear the wilderness belt to work!

I carry my 1911 in a Safariland 560/561. For a dressy belt I'd suggest a Galco (http://www.usgalco.com/default.asp), when I wear a suit I wear a SB3 belt, it supports the weight of a gun very well. Galco also makes a few nice holsters for dressy concealment as well. Look at the Side Snap Scabbard, Avenger and the Concealable. Right now Galco is making me a custom M&P9L Side Snap Scabbard holster.

I find the Milt Sparks Versa Max II (http://miltsparks.com/VM-2.htm) holster and S4C (http://miltsparks.com/4C_carriers.htm) mag carriers to be the best combination for CCW of a 1911, and I use them in training classes as well.

For leather belts I've had very good luck with the Gunner's Alley 1.5" (http://www.gunnersalley.com/product/GABELTHALF/1_12_Gunners_Alley_Gun_Belt.html), although until I went looking for that link I hadn't realized how much their prices had gone up since I ordered last.

As gotm4 mentioned, Galco makes good middle-of-the-road leather gear. I would say their Cop Belt (http://www.usgalco.com/HolsterP3.asp?ProductID=2091&CatalogID=254) is about on par with the Gunner's Alley, and may be a bit less expensive.

I was lucky enough to get my CCW combo (holster, belt, and mag carriers) from Matt DelFatti - outstanding craftsmanship and wear.

Unfortunately, he's booked out for quite a while into the future (not accepting any new orders right now - about a 2 year wait).

If I were to pick up a new belt, I'd give serious consideration to The Belt Man :
